some background info ,My mum recently received the premium for "money smart(rp)-ladies". and she is not very financial literate. It is the kind of plan (according to her) , pay 100$ every month for 10years (which is now) , which means she gave 12000$.
now upon maturing, what she earned was just $254.47?
any advises on where to raise the issue with or there is no hope. i would provide any information that may help to clear the pic, just tell me what to show LOL

was she approached by the DBS Branch staff to sign up for this while she was there to deposit some money or update passbook ? :s27:

is there any reference as to the source for the "Templeton Global Bond Fund" ?

$89x is just a projection using 5% not guaranteed

if that is the diff you are after. it is not a big sum after 10 yrs. At least she got back her Principal.

[deleted my earlier reference to eMySavings interest.]

I'm sorry, this is just sad, not even 1% pa return for a 10 year investment and taking on the risk. Aviva, DBS and Franklin Templeton did great for themselves though.

what a con job. at 5% return, you get 894 profit, agent + company get 3500.

Wah, not bad. The funds really did return a 5% p.a. For 10 years. That's really decent what.

It's too bad endowment/Ilp holders get almost none of the returns.

But the agents are not lying to you, your money did work hard and generate a 5% p.a.
