Anyway it depends on what you really want in a com is = to your budget.

A simple setup can be $1.2k - a high end $3k+

Budget Guide (including monitor and OS):
<$500: save up more and keep for future

$699 - $999: don't expect too much, but still some step up from branded PC

$1099 - $1299: max out common games, med-high settings for AAA games, what most people go for

$1399 - $1699: mid-tier to upper mid-tier performance, for average gamer 1st time going DIY PC, the performance will usually blow their minds off

$1799 - $2099: upper mid-tier to high-end performance depending on how you decide to spend on parts

Yes depending on whether you want to run multiple GPU setup.

More fps

Cons:
Uses more electricity
more heat
motherboard issues (needs 2 pci-e 16x slots)
requires better psu
case issues
maybe some driver issues
some games dont support more than 1 gpu

Well basically you get the extra boost performance. It is meant to go for multiple monitor inputs. Able to support much demanding graphics needed like 4k resolution, 144hz monitor.

Down side is that it generates heat, and consume an easy 340w - 500w. Thus leads to a much better PSU is needed. Probably a 850w.

2k budget can go really far and can keep up to pace with games in the next 2-3 years on full HD resolution.

Since you're building your rig in "near future", you can get recos fron the lao-lao experts here when you're ready to build. There's always new PC parts getting released, and tech prices fluctuating over time.
