Any hidden gems or new discoveries for good bargain shopping that we can visit in Taipei?

Any new places for wholesale stuff?

Street food and night markets are gems of Taiwan to me. Not hidden, though. :D

Where can I check out for food besides the night markets? Heard Yong Kang Street has quite a lot options too...

For night markets, Shihlin, Raohe, anywhere else worth checking out?

Yongkang street is a good choice. DTF lao dian is there. A lot of japs will go there. Got beef noodles, mango ice, etc.

I like ningxia nm. The oyster omelette there is the best imo. It is not big though.

I found two ways to reach National Palace Museum but which one is convenient? I will be staying at TS Hotel at Ximending with my family. I hope the public bus is easy to get. :)

You found two ways but did not specify which two...

My advise, train to shilin station. Cross the road and take a bus to 故宮博物館。
Yes, it is easy to go. If bus is not your cuppa tea, hitch a cab and get there once you reach shilin station.

Shida downscaled after complaints from locals.
The few mentioned are more for locals, like hidden gem.

oh no wonder.. friend's friend went to tpe lately and thought shida was non-existent.

any reviews on tonghua and yongan? more for food?

Sorry. I left the details out. Yes. One of the ways is taking R30 (Red) from Shilin Station. The other way is taking a B-something (Brown) from a Brown Line station. Argh... I need to go and search again.
