Hey guys. Got my rig for like 3 years already. Just wondering and checking about my core temp. Using i5-3450 + ASUS P8B75M;rest of PC specs are at the side.

I don't overclock and I game minimally, just recently GTA V, where my max core temp went up to like 79deg and I got like a shock; stopped playing it after knowing that.

Is this normal? For this readings, I was just surfing the net and watching some youtube videos. Didn't enter any game whatsoever. Using intel stock cooler too. Thinking if I should get a CPU cooler (would it help? Specifically Xigmatek Gaia).. Read online of people saying that if I don't overclock, the intel stock cooler is more than enough. But these readings are making me worried..

Thanks guys! Would appreciate if you guys could advise me!

the stock cooler is more than enough for basic tasks, even gaming without overclock. however, thermal paste dries up with time. do reapply it. see youtube for diy guides.
