My CPU idle temperature is at 41 degrees, and it hits 70 degrees on Intel Burn Test and 99 degrees average on Prime 95. Just want to know if it's normal?

My current overclock settings are as follows:

CPU Core Voltage 1.25V
Multiplier: 45
CPU Cache Voltage 1.20
CPU Input Voltage 1.9

Sorry I'm new to overclocking, but
1) Would it be recommended that I use this setting on 24/7 basis?

2) Do i need to switch back CPU Cache Voltage and CPU input Voltage back to auto?

Thanks appreciate all replies!

What's your OC speed?

Wah so low voltage can hit 45x multiplier..

For my 4930k I have to put 1.36v MINIMUM to be able to get to 43x, anything less BSOD on boot. And I'm running that 24/7.

I'm not sure about SB CPU's but 1.25V Vcore doesn't sound high at all, should be fine, any experts care to chime in?

The temps are perfectly normal, no cause for alarms at all.

The voltages looks okay too, but you can try going lower bit by bit if you want, might be possible.

I'm on 1.25V at 4.6GHz, should be fine.

I didn't use Prime95 though because some guides suggested against it for Haswell due to heat issues. Try other benchmarking tools like AIDA64 or IETU and see what you get.

With a H220 watercooler, I set my 4770k to 4.5 with a 1.285 Vcore and it's a shocking 100C when I ran Prime95.

It spiked about 90C when it was on AIDA64 instead.

Down clocked to 4.3 with 1.235 Vcore and the temperature spiked at an acceptable of 60+C.

I lowered mine cause of the temp diff. To run mine at 46x I need 1.27v for my Cache ratio but only need 1.253 for my vCore. I lowered to 42x and adjust to 1.22-1.23 instead. 1:1 Ratio of both would be the ideal but it would be hard. Using TPC 612 cooler and ran Cinebench R15 on both 46x I got 90c. Didn't try Prime95 as I scare I might fry my CPU.
For normal usage im on

multiplier and 42 min, 43 max on ring bus. 70c gaming load.

Normal for 4670 having high temp. My SGD300 plus DIY water cooling also cant tame the heat even with 3x4amp Delta FFB at full blast.:vijayadmin:
