Hi everyone,

I am currently overseas now and gotten myself a data plan of 6 GB. Its definitely more then enough but surprisingly... My data was left slight less then 2GB in less then 8 days! Thats crazy! I opened up the Cellular settings, and all my apps were not taking a lot of data except SYSTEM SERVICES which sucks up easily close to 4 GB!!!

I researched about it online and noticed a lot of iPhone iOS9 users facing this issue. There is no way to disable it! WIFI-Assist is OFF by the way.

Anyone here not having this issue??

I have to keep paying money to top up! ;(

iOS9!! I wonder what's Apple doing now this?

Anyone?

No such problem. I gotten my phone on 11th Oct and the system has taken up only 145MB of data so far. Perhaps you have some phantom apps sucking up data behind the scene.

I only noticed that using the App Store and Youtube takes up the most data.

Now I am suspecting it is WhatsApp back up.
If it is set to daily and cellular is on.... That could be the prob!

You can open up the system services and see more detailed into what is exactly taking up the data.

Yup, it is most probably due to whatsapp backup. Had the issue before where whatsapp backup was enabled to back up weekly. So you can imagine how much data was used over cellular cause each backup is around 500mb!!

for whatsapp backup, put daily also no problem. Just go disable cellular data for icloud in settings, then the backup will only take place when you're connected to wifi

Anyone can share with me your cellular usage for surfing EDMW for 15mins on Safari?

For me is only 15mins and is using 32MB is it normal? Never click on any video links. Just purely read EDMW only, it did load some pictures on those thread with GPGT but i never click open the pics.

Using My Data Mgr timer function to check.

You don't have to open the image to use data..

If see the image means you use data to load it liao.. :o

If someone embed a 100MB gif and you visit that thread = 100MB used

I have disable lots of cellular usage apps and controlling my cellular usuage... Just that surfing safari use so much data which puzzle me... Anyone has the same issues?

Or is it because my safari has lots of bookmarks?

Maybe is because nowadays a lot of people post pic/gif in their post?

Bookmarks is just save the title and link nia few kb heh

Maybe it's Reading List?

Settings > Safari > Reading List > Use Mobile Data

Or is it Preload Top Hit?
Use quite a bit of data too as every time you Google it will load the top few
