Adjust the threshold warning temperature higher. 70c is not a concern at all if the processor is under heavy load. Our higher ambient temperature recently also contributed to the overall temperature.

Maybe u can list the parts of your PC?

isn't it displayed on the side of my posting?

not sure if re-application of thermal paste helps.
its been there since day one, i didn't do anything to it.

if you use stock cooler thats normal. on stock cooler my i7 2600 hits 85 on load and shuts down. after change to 4 heatpipe cooler, never exceed 65

Maybe u can try to change your power plan to maybe balanced? Or low when not gaming.

Even my 2400 hits 90° and it still let me use as normal :D

anyway just clean up ur case and apply new thermal paste as well.

Hmm shouldn't throttle at such low temps. Should try reapplying thermal paste first instead of investing on a cpu cooler.

It's weird... I always thought that even going to 85C peak shouldn't throttle at all.

My load temps hit around 80+C which I feel its perfectly acceptable. idle temps around 40C. gaming would be around 70+.

what do u mean by 'throttle' here?
cpu can tahan until 100-105 degree celcius ... different chip different number but around 100 same as water boiling point
that is called tjmax where automatic shutdown occur

when it reach around 95+ it will start to throttle i think .... which it drops speed to keep the heat output balanced with the (weak) heat dissipation capability
this feature happens much more often on laptop , those 65watt quadcore i7 cannot sustain full clockspeed during gaming load for hours .... often because the limit is set too conservative
these laptop gamers will report laggy or choppy framerate when the clockspeed drops , somebody programmed a software called "throttlestop" to raise the tdp cap by intel
