I just gotten a new samsung 850 evo 250gb from lazada today and after installing windows 8 and samsung magician, i noticed on samsung magician that my total bytes written is 0.95tb. All i did was install windows 8 and magician and i think that 0.95tb written is ridiculous. Should i return the ssd or is total bytes written thing inaccurate?
TIA

Use crystaldiskinfo check for power on hours

Was the com switch for about 5 hours?

Lol, ridiculous indeed. But it's strange that the power on hours and power cycle counts show as zero leh. If it's refurb, wouldn't they just reset all the counters if they can...

Almost the same as my main C: SSD, which is about 2 months old and has 1.2TB written, in comparison.

If it was advertised as new, I think you can return it under the "Not as advertised" reason.

They can reset the counters if it's a refurbished unit. Speaking of which, shouldn't the amount of written data be reset as well? Not too sure.

I asked this question before. Seems that the factories run tests on these ssds before they ship them out, hence the number of writes. At least that is what other forumers told me.

Maybe he do chkdsk for bad sector? Thats why high amount of data written.

Read, then write back then read back see if same data and then write back original data.
