I always used to wear North Face - but cannot seem to find now. Is it not sold in SG anymore?

which well are you living in? :s22:

There's North Face outlets in Paragon, Ngee Ann City, ION, 313 Somerset, Marina Square and IMM.

any lightweight quick dry hiking shoe to recommend?

such a generic question

but what kind of hiking you looking at. Generally i trust goretex but it gets hot. hi cut too if terrain gets a bit too nasty. Vibram soles are pretty decent.

head down to decathlon if you dont mind the brand. try out all the shoes. branded doesn't really mean much if its not comfortable.

wanted a shoe for day hikes on easy terrain. no need med/hi cut. no goretex as it gets pretty warm & not easy to dry. couldn't find anything i want in decathlon, so just asking around for ideas.

Can use those trail running shoes.
They are light n have vibram soles for grip.

Some examples are
Hoka Speedgoat 5
New balance hierro 7
Adidas terrex series
Nike also has some trail shoes but their soles dont do well on wet surfaces.

if looking for trail run/hike shoes can add on and consider kailas and altras as well. just to note altras are zero drop and might take a while to get used to.

theres asics trabuco and fujispeed. trabuco with more cushioning and fujispeed for more lightweight.

nike pegasus trail looks decent enough and seem to be on promotion at outlet stores(IMM and changi city point)

Yes for Nike trail shoes. I slipped and fell while I was going down the overhead bridge stairs on a rainy day a few weeks ago. :cautious:

Some say army boots also can, some like Timberland, and some like Merrell Moab. Decathlon also got some good shoes, can go check it out. Some others even suggest go Royal Sporting House sample sale, some got their shoes at $25 and $15 sia, really cheap. Then got some say must choose right shoe type and weight if want go hike long distance. Some others also suggest lightweight trail runners or approach shoes instead of heavy boots.

In the end, where to buy and what to buy, really depend on own preference, budget, comfort, and where you want go hiking. Most importantly, must try before buy, make sure size is correct and comfortable. If got sale, best time to grab lah! And some even suggest looking at waterproof shoes or ones with Gortex lining for Iceland trip.

I also looking at those waterproof hiking shoe. I prefer those goretex running shoes as they are lighter . I tried brooks ghost GTX 14 but unfortunately they don't come in wide fit.
