Just gotten the TV today. First impressions, the tv is very bright. But its so bright that i find many spots to have shadows over the black. Tried a few settings but to no avail to get rid of it. What should i do? I hope its not a defact right?

Wow miniled bloom so bad. I tested u7h fald youtube subtitle blooming test at courts cant really see blooming.

That's what I thought would be.
The miniLED dimming zones cannot be as small as each subtitle text size. Hence it has to light up the whole oversized dimming zone for the bright text. Plus the slimness of each text, the LCD open the max for the slim text to shine through and that max light that shine through is so bright that it's bound to spill over the thin text borders and bloom.
Hence it's actually no better than ordinary LCD TV for computer text.

But I don't remember any reviewer doing this blooming test for miniLED TV.

I see that recently a lot of YouTube TV reviewers go straight to using big OLED TV as computer monitor without explaining why not this recently very popular miniLED TV? Now I know why.

My 65in LCD TV just died. I'm forced to use a cheap $300 local branded projector as computer monitor/TV. But at 85in projection size, it's actually quite good(using dark mode, the text are quite readable). That makes me think I should be hunting for a TV bigger than 65in to use as monitor/TV.
I suspect that miniLED TV would text bloom and not suitable, you help to confirm it. Thanks.

I can't afford OLED but I'm seeing last generation OLED prices are coming down a lot. So I'm hoping for cheap lelong clearance sales for old models while I'm using my projector.

yes for movies and games but not much better for thin white text on black of computer op.

His case seems like faulty panel. That blooming is bad. Hopefully he sort it out.

anyone connected their soundbar via audio port (not eArc) to the tv and having some intermittent issue?
watch awhile will have 1-3 seconds of sounds gone, after that will come back again and repeat.

i tried using soundbar bluetooth connection no such issue.
tested tv speaker also no issue.

I went to hisense booth today on tech show @ suntec to check on their display model. Apparently the blooming was bad as well, so the staff did turn off the local dimming function and the blooming went off. So with the local dimming , the black areas are very black. Without the local dimming the black areas somehow turn greyish.

You are lucky to be able to spot the blooming. To say it's "terrible" is by far an understatement given its price point. I would surmise there are many unfortunate souls who bought on impulse simply from the marketing hype of the "mini-LED" as the OLED substitute.

I believe many a layman can't even tell what the "blooming" effect looks like. The number of local dimming zones are too few on the Hisense compared to the LG mini-LED and that's the reason for the blooming.

End of the day an LG OLED is definitely the best and safest bet. If u are on a budget, a 4K UHD is a better choice

Ok.. the MiniLED is 75inch while the PRISM OLED is 65.

The Thing about the PRISM OLED is, it is not as soothing to the eyes as the 75" Hisense. Not sure why.

If u don't do it back-to-back comparison, u won't miss a thing.

I get blooming when the Netflix logo start up.. but less on Flim maker mode
