The chart means nothing much.

Obviously c825 is not as good as x935 but they have all the points. The reasons why TCL is selling x935 is to earn more money. Just a bunch of color is a silly way to represent specs.

Did some research and realize Hisense is basically committing very scummy deceptive marketing practices. For that alone I will stay clear of this brand.

1/ The U8H sold in the US (and consequently all the YouTube reviews) are not the same tv as the one sold in SG. So all the glowing reviews do not apply to what you will get here.

2/ The U8H in SG has only ~100 odd local dimming zones (the US version has ~500). There is clearly not miniled territory and to market the U8H series as miniled is deceptive.

3/ Hisense refuseto list whether their U8H is VA or IPS on the spec sheet despite their own blog making it a big deal. The irony!

That is why I prefer to pay a bit more for a TCL and stay away from Hisense. At least for TCL, we're getting what's advertised. Hisense? Nope. Definitely staying away from such scams!

I’m using a U8H tv .. anyone have tried connecting external hard disk to play videos on Hisense tv? Any idea the max hdd capacity that hisense can read and play?

also, any loss of video quality if I play 4K videos this way? Connecting hdd directly to tv using usb

Don't think there is any loss of quality if you connect the HDD/SSD directly to TV via USB.

I connected my SSD (with enclosure) to the U8H and it works. Not sure whether there is any size limit though.

Do note that when playing back MKV files, the U8H is currently not able to playback Dolby Vision content. Need to wait for a firmware update for it to be fixed (No ETA on that, have been waiting since Sep)

Don’t have to worry too much bro. Buy tv just enjoy the movie. I don’t understand why many buy movie need to see dimming here, dimming there. The black not black enough, the white not white enough and too yellowish. The tiger looks too flat and doesn’t look like it is popping.

When watch movie, appreciate their storyline, acting skills, graphics la. Watch AV focus on different things.

Ppl watch fantastic beast wont comment like “aiya! I wish the black can be blacker”.

Life already got so much to worry. No need to worry so much detail. Just get a good deal (don’t be carrothead). At most make a mistake, just buy another one after 3-4 years.

You have more basic needs for your TV, and I'm glad your TV satisfies your needs.
Other may feel differently and demand more from the screen, and are willing to pay for it. I fall into the latter category.
