Hokkaido 2nd Visit

I had a great fun in Hokkaido during my previous trip. 4 years ago. It was a 8 days self drive tour. All I can say everything was fantastic.


Fast forward to 2020, I decided to visit the place again with my wife and child (18months).
Cheap airfare. All inclusive with luggage it cost about $1100. Thank to Scoot

It would be my first trip with my family, any interesting ITN for a second time vistor?

Have some thoughts of driving all the way north to visit the cape and Abashiri to take the ice breaking cruise

2nd was Hokkaido

What kind of inputs are you looking for? Driving in the heaviest snowfall month? Any experience?

January would be very cold. We were there in February 2018. Coldest was -20°C. Can still go for winter illumination events. Activities would be snow-trekking, smelt fishing or playing snow/ snow mobile and etc.

Will be there during 31 Jan - 11 Feb.

Hopefully the weather will be good to us. Still considering to drive or just public transport.

Highly recommend driving, especially in those super cold conditions. I might be wrong but in the winter months, just enjoy snow, seafood and onsen. Not much sightseeing unless its nearby.
