Have you booked your air tix? If not i suggest you fly to Hakodate Airport first... then travel upwards... and depart using Asahikawa Airport...

Btw, if you are going to ashiyama zoo to watch the penguin match... make sure u go after mid december... usually the penguin match starts around that time...

Others may disagree, but I would skip noboribetsu and allocate this extra day into sapporo.

If self drive, you can cover otaru and cape kamui and/or 青山別邸 (for a nice lunch), not far from otaru aquarium, in a day is doable.

it's a pity cos i already booked my tickets. had wanted to skip hakodate initially but decided to go or else my trip like nothing much

yup, trying to put my asahiyama zoo at the end of my trip will probably be 20 dec. hopefully they will decide to start in mid-dec.

decided noboribetsu because i'm an onsen kind of person. just thinking if i should make day trip to there from sapporo because the luggage is quite a bit of a hassle.

Can't drive so public transport everywhere!
