I will assume you are continuing on to Chitose on ANA. 2h is more than enough especially if the flight connection is set by ANA.

connecting flight might not be from ANA yet, still checking on flight schedules as it is in mid nov, but if using other domestic airlines will 2hrs be enough

Depends also if same or different airlines.

My last 3 times flying into NRT, time from landing until take luggage and out the door is around 35-40min. So in this case no problem for you to catch onward flight to CTS because Japan domestic flight don't have to check in that early (as an example, JetStar Japan closes domestic bag drop 30min before flight).

HOWEVER!! if yoh unlucky and kana stuck behind a widebody plane from China then I've heard of ppl on these boards and other boards reporting occasional 1hr++ stuck at immigration queue alone.

the immigration portion is wat i am most worried if to buffer 2hrs and next issue is to find where is the domestic chk in counter as still not sure how big narita airport is, luggage no issues as will hand carry everything all the way to chitose

Are you buying the tickets separately? So far I always buy both my international and domestic flights together and have no issue with connecting flights. While I have not experienced it myself, I do note that ANA does use its subsidiary and JAL uses Jetstar Japan for some domestic flights. My mindset has always been if the airlines are selling connecting flights with short transit time, they must have some confidence in the timing else they will face problem taking responsibility for the missed flight.

I guess you can have some confidence in Japan immigration service. If the worse happens, quickly get the airline's assistance. I was once stuck in a long security queue in LAX airport. Someone taking the same flight as me sought the assistance from the airline and many of got to cut the queue with the airline assistance till the security warned the airline that there is a limit of how many passengers can get such priority.

I noted that you may want take SQ from your first post. You may want consider sticking to the Japanese airlines for safer connection reasons. Personally I think the domestic tickets are also priced attractively when purchased together with the international flights as connecting flighta, it is usually cheaper than the advertised 10000+tax fare.

alresdy bought from ana to narita, didn't think of buying ana to chitose at the same time so guess will need to settle for other domestic flights to chitose unless ana offers better pricing to chitose from narita

just chk that need to travel to other terminals for other domestic airlines

Since u r taking ANA, it wil b better to continue using ANA for your chitose part. It more convenient n hassle free about luggage etc.

Only the back to tokyo then u use other airlines that suit your travel timing ( afew airport in Hokkaido )

already booked thru ana for my flights both ways so think no option for direct to chitose thru ana now, even so had chk the fares and timings for ana direct to chitose for my dates is more costly than domestic flights options from narita itself and the ana timing for connecting to chitose need to wait close to 3.5hrs

so for me now is to book domestic to chitose from narita and depending on which airline service will need to take their shuttle bus
