hi all, just switched back to iPhone after using android for the past few years...

One of the problem I had to with iPhone previously was the home button not getting responsive after a while...

New iPhone has this problem ? If yes how do you all solve it?

I don't want to use the white button on screen app

That's for the older gen iPhones. Particularly iPhone 4s and below. From the iPhone 5(Later Batch) the home button is reinforced by a metal plate which improves the durability.

use jailbreak tweak virtual home. so that a touch simulates home button. no need to press.

Serious ar.. I din know... Just felt that the built of the home button is better....

But I still use Touch Assistive to "preserve" the life of the home button.... So now this is not necessary?

You paid money to use your phone, so why preserve the button for the junk yard? Just use la, spoil then pay a bit to repair.

if u have a bigger screen now and don't mind the assistive touch, it's actually quite convenient to get around some of the functions

I highly doubt it, it's a solid state sensor, pretty much just a far higher resolution capacitive touch surface compared to a normal touch screen.

Furthermore the 5S has been out for over a year already, haven't seen reports of touchID loosing sensitivity over time.

What it does is like how you unlock your phone

The ring detects your finger every time you touch the sensor and wakes the sensor to take your fingerprint

Now if you use virtual home button, you're waking the sensor every time you touch the sensor to activate the "Home button"

Not sure if it will wear the button overtime, but it will definitely decrease battery life.

Nope, the description says it only needs to detect a finger, no fingerprint is taken. So only the capacitive ring is powered, sensor can remain off. Anyway the sensor isn't gonna affect battery life significantly la.

Oh I thought the sensor is awaken because it vibrates when you touch the button then I checked the settings can off the vibration

The cool thing about Virtual Home is that it doesn’t require you to use your registered fingers when performing the Home screen and app switcher gestures; any finger will do, Touch ID simply needs to detect the presence of a finger so that it can perform the action requested.
