Hi I have the following home network set up which until recently was working fine but now it is now. I dont know what the cause of the problem is:

Modem>Apple Airport Extreme>TP Link Homeplug>---3 other homeplugs

Plug 1 in bedroom for wired connection to laptop
Plug 2 in Kitchen for camera
Plug 3 in Hallway for camera

Plug 1 connection does not seem to work anymore. Previously worked well and I have not changed any set up.
Plug 2 and 3 are still working fine and I can see camera images

If I take plug 2 into the bedroom, it does not receive signal but it works fine in kitchen.

If I take plug 1 outside of the bedroom and use somewhere else, it works fine.

So I have established it is not the plug, but the bedroom location seems to be the issue.

Any expert able to shed light on what is causing this and how I can resolve?

It is driving me crazy and I cant work in the bedroom anymore

Thanks
ZJ

Some questions:
1) is your bedroom further from the router compared to 2 & 3?
2) what models are your homeplugs?
3) any new electrical stuff in your house, particularly phone chargers, PC power supplies, etc?

Hi

1) All roughly the same distance
2) All the same brand TP Link
3) The only thing that happened recently is I have moved all of my chargers out of the bedroom and into the living room which is near the base router.

No new items, just simply moved.

Thx

Have to do some divide-and-conquer to isolate the problem.
Maybe start by unplugging all the chargers and see whether homeplug1 in the bedroom works.

Hi ZJ,

Did you notice the lights on your Bedroom's Homeplug? Did the powerline LED lit up?

Powerline networking is dependent on the quality and stability of your electrical wiring. So if the same power line plug that is known to be working else where fails to work properly only in the bedroom, then the electrical wiring to your bedroom is not up to standard. Else, are there any electrical appliances attached in the bedroom, they might affect the home plug too.

I would suggest getting contractor to do some Cat 6 LAN cable.
