Why nowadays home renovation so expensive? I want to do a simple 4-5 room hdb flat also 80-100k. Not even doing much carpentry.

8 years ago, 35k I can settle the whole renovation for my old flat for similar work done.
not rue la..simple reno for 4-5rm hdb can be just 15k upwards....it all depends on what materials u use. tile from 2.5 to $1000. tap from $5-$5000, etc

I guess now got to DIY. I DIY one room wallpaper and vinyl flooring less than $500.

i'm quite meticulous so it looks great, the vinyl flooring only took a day but the wallpapering took a few days to get right because getting it to fit perfectly especially around aircon and electrical trunking is a real pain.

There is no need to go by ID
Im a contractor, now owners know what they want, can just directly find contractor to do.

Like if u doing a new bto, to do up a 5 room floor tiling, if u go by contractor, will be around 7888$
If u go by id, will be around 12 to 13k
