I'm setting up an Home Theatre,- looking for some advice being new to Projectors & Hifi systems (previous experience with atmos was on soundbar only)

Room Size - 3m by 5m
Budget - Projector, projector screen, AV, speakers & Subs below $20k
Usage - Movies 90%, Music 10%, Gaming 0%
Existing equipment used to stream atmos content - Nvidia Shield

Projector
- I believe the optimum size of the projector screen will be about 100cm (correction... in inches i mean)
- Room will be light-controlled (no issues about ambient lighting). 4k & HDR is a requirement
- Unsure if I should go for UST or Long Throw?
- USTs seem to have their own OS (i.e, easy to turn on Netflix), however will using these USTs allow Atmos content to passthrough directly?

Hifi (Front, rear, subs, in-ceiling)
- Open to Ideas, but preferably to a single vendor who can help setup & calibrate
- AV seems to be likely Denon
- Overall explored some Dali, Audio vector systems, still looking around unsure on options for this
- Yes like big sounds, but overall may be quite sensitive to listening fatique so warmer and less harsh preferred.

TIA sirs!

Wah very good if u getting projector u can use same speaker for front LCR left center right at ear level through an acoustically transparent screen! No need to use lousy center speakers!

The projector screen size only 1m? Better to get a 40 inch OLED TV. Sharper and blacker black some more

Your room size is 5M X 3M.....and what?? Your optimum screen size is only 100cm?? Come on!!

For a immersive movie experience, you should make the most use of what your room wall can allow you to mount. For a 3M wall, you could do 120-130inches diagonal. If you use the 5M wall, you can even do 150 inch.

Don't want? Then use large screen TV will do, say a 80 or 85 inch. Picture is more detailed, blacks will be blacker, colour will be vivid and picture can be very bright than what you can get from a projector.

Also big screen TV can do Dolby Vision natively, something no projector can currently do right now.

These days, you run projector, 100" is not good enough. You got a 3M wall, you can do 130" if you really want.

yes sorry is 100"... I really want to go 120" by the 3m wall but i was thinking the screen size is almost to the edge of the wall and leaves very little space for the left/right channels. It will probably block the screen,... Unless i suppose its placed behind the screen?

If i run a bigger screen on the 5m wall, i dont think there's enough depth to sit along 3m for the atmos rears to be optimal i guess & screen size could be too big for the seating distance

When I give you advice, it is to guide you. Not to sabo you.

Got block or not??

I started with 100" when projectors were dim (In the 90s when projectors are 3 gun CRTs). Now with laser output, the bigger the better. I start noticing the wide gaps at both sides of the wall and realized I definitely can do better than 100". I just save you from buying 2 screens. Start with 100", regret and than upgrade to a bigger screen.

Yes, 5M wall do have issues but if you want 150", then this is it. I don't do it on my 5M wall for the exact reasons. But there are those who want the screen to be the max.

You may want to get those acoustically transparent screen and place 3 tower speakers. Don’t get a center speakers. Your speakers can go behind the screen like cinema

how many speakers u getting for ceiling?
5.1.4? Or 5.2.4?
Sub most ppl will recommend you the SVS, one will knock at least a k off your budget.

denon x6700 will take another 4.5k off
Speakers can look at these 2 brands. Their tower is like $1-2k each.

Some ppl like horn style. U have to listen with speakers

Accoustic Transparent screen (these cost alot higher than expected lol) with 3 inwall speakers (LCR)
Sub may be XTZ 12.17
Amp Yamaha RX-A6A

More relevant for people with tv not projector...

Just saw this... maybe perfect for center speaker heheh. Can put near wall yet won't reflect off table edge cos top shelf has less depth than bottom shelf. Of cos best to use with foam speaker pads that can tilt center speaker upwards abit which should help absorb/dissipate any transfer of resonance to the rack.

I think my final layout will be something like this (5.2.4) for my 3x5m rm

- Front R/C/L diagonal in-wall behind acoustic transparent screen
- 110" inch screen (could go 120" but after consideration of front seating positions, i think 110' is good enough). Tested a few immersive showrooms, didnt really gel with too big a screen.
- Dual 12" ported subs at 1/2 side wall facing inwards (still contemplating if should just go smaller 10" being less bulky/pricier and room isn't that big to begin with. Also considering noise pollution to neighbours which at this point is unknown how well they take it)
- Rears abit interesting, figuring out maybe dipoles could be a good choice to suit both front and back positions.
- 4 in-ceiling. Think they're a little far back in the room, but just adjusting for the primary listening position.

Not sure if in wall speakers are any good. With big bookshelf speakers crossed over to subwoofer at 80hz, you can kind of feel the bass texture in male voices. Maybe like some say, there's no replacement for displacement? Although I read some say just get thx certified then it's OK.
