Hi guys, would like to ask you on the following trip itinerary if it is feasible?

It's my honeymoon and my Wife and I would like to tour Europe.

Milan -> Venice -> Swiss Alps (Do I go to Zurich?) -> Paris -> Manchester -> London

All the above in 18 days. Of course, some of the places we are just staying for a night or two.

Need your feedback on the above. Appreciate it.

Any rail travel or all flights?

If rail travel, then do consider Paris - London on Eurostar (sit on the left)

Intend to do rail from country to country. Is it cheaper that way or more expensive?

From Paris to Londo, Why left? Cos reserved seat?

I think on the left cause of the view? Just guessing :p .

Rail usually more expensive unless you get early bird discounts. Rail is more convenient.

I'll be going from Venice to the Valais, Switzerland this December. Base on your travel plan, you do not need to go to Zurich.

I would like to go to the Swiss alps though. That's the reason why I put Zurich, but I am not sure if Zurich is the right 'port' to Swiss alps.

Personally, I see Zurich only as a destination to arrive at or leave from the airport. I find the city itself boring. I guess you need to know where you're going on your day trips out of Zurich and decide if the distance/time taken makes it worthwhile.

There are so many other options that you may want to look at before deciding where to put up.

I have to agree with you. Zurich is just a 'port' for me to go to Swiss Alps via.

I'm definitely thinking of a day tour.

Wonder if Feb will be too cold for me though.

I have revised my itinerary a little and I have a few questions.

Day 1 - Singapore to Milan, Milan, transfer to Venice, Venice 1st night
Day 2 - Venice 2nd night
Day 3 - Venice to Milan, Milan 1st night
Day 4 - Milan to Interlaken via Swiss Pass, Interlaken 1st night
Day 5 - Jungfrau Day Trip, Interlaken 2nd night
Day 6 - Interlaken to Lucerne, Mt Titlus or Mt Pilatus, Lucerne 1st night
Day 7 - Train ride from Lucerne to Paris via Basel, Paris 1st night
Day 8 - Paris 2nd night
Day 9 - Paris 3rd night
Day 10 - Flight from Paris to Manchester, Manchester 1st night
Day 11 - Old Trafford match (Man Utd vs Man City), Manchester 2nd night
Day 12 - Manchester to London, London 1st night
Day 13 - London day trip to Stonehenge, London 2nd night
Day 14 - London 3rd night
Day 15 - London 4th night
Day 16 - Flight from London to Singapore

1. Day 7 - Should I go Mt Titlis or Mt Pitalus? Which Mountain is better? Which one is easier to go from Lucerne?

2. Paris - Is Paris Disneyland worth going? I see the prices of the tickets and it's like S$120-S$150 per pax. Super expensive, but I heard from some saying it's worth it. Anyone been there before?

3. Paris - Is Moulin Rouge worth it? Is it expensive? What is the price range? Is the venue easily accessible from City Center?

4. Paris - Do people there speak English? Will I have any problems there?

5. London - Is broadway worth a try to visit and/or watch a play?

6. London - What else can I do there?

Your itinerary looks expensive as you are travelling to 4 different countries with 3 different currencies. Although many has mentioned that travelling across Europe on its railway is easy, it is expensive when the train has to cross borders and the time between 2 cities is not as short as you may think. Do u really want to bring luggage and travel on the train every few days on your honeymoon?

I would just choose 2 countries and visit the cities in those countries, eg France - Paris, Bordeaux, etc. Italy - Rome, Florence, Venice, etc. As then the train ride between the cities in that country would be shorter and less expensive.

However the choice of countries depend on what you want to see, buy or eat, eg. buying LV would choose Paris, buying good branded watches would go Switzerland.

Expensive because of the currency or because of the train ride?
For me, we have no qualms of moving the luggage every now and then because we really wish to visit those place.

As for your suggestions, I appreciated it, my next visit will definitely not be as hectic.

Is LV cheaper in Paris or Venice or Milan?

If money and moving luggage are not problems to u, then by all means go ahead. Although many people always think that Europe is small, this is not the case.

Milan to Venice - abt 2 1/2 hours by train
Venice to Milan - abt 2 1/2 hours by train
Milan to Interlaken - abt 3 hours by train
Lucerne to Paris - abt 4 hours by train
Paris to Manchester - abt 4 1/2 hours by train
Manchester to London - abt 2 hours

If it is me, I would not be greedy and do so many countries in 1 trip. I would just take my time to explore and not spend so much time on the trains.

I agree with what you say, unfortunately, it's not easy for me to change my in/out flight already.

In any case, the original idea was to cover do a inter-country honeymoon and visit some of the main city in some countries.

I assume then you are flying into Milan and flying out from London. In this case I would advise you to give up Venice although it is a beautiful place and stay Milan 1 day and then go to Switzerland's Lucern then Interlaken then Geneva, from Geneva then to France's Paris, then to Manchester and back to London for flight back to Singapore.

I didn't like Venice the first time I went (student budget), but decided to give it a try on a more generous budget. It was much better, but I still think venice is over-rated and I really don't like the transportation there (feet / vaporetto). If asked whether I would bother to make a special side trip there for 1 day, I would say, don't waste time.

If you want, you could consider Como because the trains to Switzerland may be running on the same line so you could then just hop on from there to continue north.

Which time of the year are you planning to go?

I'm going in Feb next year. From 18 Feb to 6 Mar.

Yup, I'm flying in Milan and out from London.
I would love to give up Venice and Milan but my wife-to-be refuse to. And since it's our honeymoon, and both of us don't mind the 'lugging' of luggage few days each time, I decided to follow her wishes, since she say it's on her bucket list to visit.

Didn't know Venice is that bad. Are there really nothing to see and/or shop there?

Oh, where's Como and what's there? First time i hear this place.
