If I did not E-file my claim under GREAT SupremeHealth upon discharge, what should I do?

You will need to go back to the hospital/day surgery centre to ask for E-filing to be done. Please note that some hospitals/day surgery centre will charge an administrative fee for such requests, which will be borne by policyholder.[/url]
OK, but some medical providers can’t e-file with Great Eastern. That includes almost all overseas medical providers. Great Eastern (and other carriers) still have a ”manual” claims process in such cases.

”Ask the provider’s financial advisor.”

I am going to have upcoming large hospital bills. I am thinking whether I should not let the Hospital e-claim for me but I use credit cards to make my own payments instead & then submit the claims directly to the insurance company on my own instead. Reason is I like to get something out from my credit cards payments. Is this a good idea?
It depends on whether it’s public or private hospitals and I assume u r referring to your integrated shield plan.

For public hospitals, they must e-file for you to the insurer. At least for my insurer Income, they will not accept any claims from the policyholder directly for the main procedure or surgery and the claim must be submitted by the hospital on your behalf. Only the pre and post hospitalisation claims which u paid in cash or credit directly, you can claim it from the insurer.

And which credit cards can earn rebates or points? I believe all the cards exclude medical bills as a qualifiable category

As already established upthread that's not true. Some credit cards yield points or rebates for medical bills including public hospital bills.

Supreme health is great eastern integrated shield plan. Thus, follow the gov e-file method.

Yes, for hospitals that e-file. As I pointed out the vast majority of hospitals in the world don't e-file with Integrated Shield carriers in Singapore. But those expenses are often Integrated Shield claimable at least to some extent.

The thread starter obviously doesn't want to e-file right away. The thread starter wants to pay his/her medical bill using a credit card that awards points or miles. Some credit cards do. That can be done! There are possible implications in not e-filing right away, but that's why he/she should ask the hospital's financial consultant for advice on how to pay the bill in the way(s) the thread starter prefers, consistent with the thread starter's own objectives.

Update - Ask the different hosp staff, they giving me different answers. However from Singlife insurance agent, if it is claiming for the integrated shield plan, they only accept hosp E-file, so I cannot submit claim on my own.
I asked the hosp staff if I like to make own payment 1st & later request hosp to efile to claim insurance, the staff says cannot, once I decided to pay direct, hosp will not efile to claim insurance.
For insurance under employer, this one does not require hosp to efile, I can submit claim on my own.

One forumer stated direct payment was made but later ask hosp to efile & refund amount my cheque, says very tedious to do.
Appears not so easy to do huh. My bill is over 12k & if able to use health buddy to pay with Citi SMRT, that is 5% amounting to $600 cash rebate.
I am now thinking if I can get hosp to make partial bill for me to pay using my card & then I claim direct from employer insurance to max limit, the remaining amount to help me efile & claim from medisave & integrated shield plan.

Any other advice?
I still think if I upfront say am paying direct & then later tell hosp I like them to efile & claim insurance, if they will allow & refund my earlier payment.

There is compulsory deductible and co-insurance payment with medishield life. This part u got to pay from medisave or credit card. So e-file or not, this balance is from your own pocket or medisave .

https://www.cpf.gov.sg/member/annex/understand-medishield-life-payouts
After that, you can submit to company insurance to make good the medisave or your wallet.

I wish you good health and a speedy recovery

So far the staff I asked says hosp will not efile to claim insurance if I decided to pay upfront. Since my company insurance claim has limit of 12K, I will attempt to ask the hosp whether they be able to split the bill, 12K I pay upfront & I submit claim on my own while the balance let hosp e-file to claim from the integrated shield insurance. Will see if they would allow.

If your condition is not urgent, try it across 2 policy year ?

Its urgent & needs to complete within 1-2 mths. My company insurance policy year cuts off in end Dec. so unable to wait that long. Think I better email Hosp directly to find out about split bills & payments cos dun quite trust the staffs over the counter, different staff provided me with different responses.
