Hot Spring recommendation in Beitou

Anyone have any recommendation for private hot spring in Beitou?
Was looking at Marshal Zen Garden?
Going in Mid Nov.

Depending on your budget really. There have been some chained hotels that have come into the area. Some of the local ones that's been around are SweetMe(personal favorite), Radium Kagaya, and many more. A thing to note though, the private hot spring houses have several kinds: the one with your private hot pool only, the private hot and cold pool, the private hot and cold pool with resting area. Their prices are all different as the times are different too.

Will take a look at your recommendation.
Personally I prefer with Hot and Cold pool.. without resting area is fine for me.

In the end I booked Marshal Zen Garden. NT1200 for 1 room (2pax) for an hour. Free shuttle bus service provided.

Sorry to bump this thread. Is it easy to locate and convenient to walk to the hot springs from the xinbeitou station? If not what are the transport options to get there

Yes, they are all around walking distance from Xinbeitou mrt. If u are on budget can go to public hot spring (40 ntd). Otherwise there are private hotsprings all along the way till death valley, which are more expensive depending on the luxury level

There should be quite a number of hotels that also rent out onsen room, usually in blocks of 1.5hours or 2 hours. One example is Atami Hotel, which is a 10 minute walk from XBT MRT. It's just a room with a leather couch, one tub, one rack, one shower, two sets of towels and two bottles of drinking water. Within the room, besides the four walls and a door, there's no other partition.

These private baths, are they really good? i've tried once and dun like the experience. i prefer public bath as i know these are real hotspring.

Yeah most probably will just do walk in since it's a weekday
Read the baths are sulphur water some have hot and cold baths

i think those at Xin Beitou, be it private or public are fed with the same ground mineral water since the area is a volcanic region. the sulphur mineral water will have a distinct rotten egg smell and the water feels 'slippery' on the skin. public ones, i've not tried before. however, some hotels do offer both 'shared' baths and private rooms. the water's essentially the same, they are super hot, so there's another tap in the tub that supplies water at room temperature for bathers to mix out to a comfortable temperature.

there's yet another public-public spring (open air) which is the Millenium hot spring which is also within walking distance from the XBT MRT station.

then can soak?

It depends on the level of your sensitivity, as well as what kind of hotspring it is. There are many kinds of hotsprings with different content in their water. You should really go Google a bit if you know what can trigger your skin into eczema or rash. My cousins soaked in Wulai and their skin are OK. When they soaked at xinbeitou, their skin broke out into rash. They soak in Japan generally OK.

I did not do any tests for my eczema trigger, so I didn't dare to go for any hotsprings, whether in Japan or Taiwan. Don't want the remaining of the trip to be ruined if I get rashes due to it...
