Hotel comparison in XMD

Hi all. This is my 1st trip with moi gf to Taiwan and will be staying at XMD. Shortlisted 2 hotels. And just hope that I can get some advice from anyone who has stayed in either of this hotels. TIA!!!

Colleagues stayed at the latter before. Obviously good (better be) for that kinda price.

no cupboard to put ur clothing

I just stayed at Just Sleep ximending.

The location is quite good, just outside of xmd, across the street and above a 711.
Being right at xmd would suck as it is so noisy.

The breakfast is very good i feel, lots of options.

The only drawback is that the street noise from motorcycles can be quite loud at times but it is rare.

I'll definitely stay there again if i can get a good price.

Most probably would go for Just Sleep.


Its just the price that's a concern right now. I dun really fancy 'high-end' hotels as I always believe that I'm there for a holiday. And not there to 'sleep in'! HAHA


Diary of Taipei is so much cheaper. But of course, don't want something that's too sloppy.

Just Sleep isnt really a high end hotel.
They dont even provide bath robes!

Since u are going with gf, Just sleep is probably a better choice.

What u pay for is what you get
If you r ok with basic room, diary hotel is better

just like most of our friends, we r 20+ ...
so not financially strong haha ...
so we stayed at 3stars hotel in xmd lol...
tat time we stayed quad room 2 double one nite is 102sgd with breakfast

I always go with TS Hotel. Value for money. No frills. Quiet too. No issue with noise. And it's kinda right smack next to XMD.

Alot of places also value for money. But the main thing is can u sleep properly and feel comfortable anot.

itrip inn not bad . walking from mrt station is abt 10min, at behind amba
their business room have bath tub
with standing shower too ...
however the room abit small abt 20m2
their tv very big ... 42inch ...
their room no window... the small window is at toilet there lol..
just like most taiwan hotel, they would advise you not to throw toilet paper into the toilet bowl so as not to jam the toilet bowl lol ...

promo price sometimes can get as cheap as 70sgd per nite for two ...
their breakfast is super basic, just like most 3 stars hotel in taiwan

I stay at swiio hotel (http://en.swiio.com/) before, very nice and comfortable. Rate is reasonable, cheaper than cityinn plus xmd.

Have stayed in just sleep before their price became so expensive that I've felt that it's not worth for the quality.

Have chosen to stay at zhong xiao area during my last visit for a better quality 4star hotel and paying only slightly more than just sleep. It was a pleasant trip with the numerous choices of food, shopping (my hotel is near the 2sogos) and convenience transportation.

if u wan stay xmd fri to sun, be prepare to pay mroe ...
for example 2.5 to 3 stars hotel sun to thur can cost abt 50+ ...
weekend can cost abt 2x or mroe

so normally weekend would stay zhongxiao area ...
near to mrt station ...
somemroe abt 60+ per nite for two ...
