Hotel Vista Grande. Location cannot fight. Smack in the middle of dotonbori.

Good space (for Japan) with a properly sized toilet, not those pre-fab type you usually get.

I stayed in Consort Osaka before. Location wise is best for day tripping to Kyoto and Kobe. One station away from Shin-Osaka(Shinkansen), 2stops away from Umeda and 6 stops away from Namba.

Hotel Consort - Hotels.com Singapore

From KIX you can take Haruka to Shin-osaka then one stop south to the Hotel's nearest stn(Nishinakajimaminamikata)

Thanks bro but this is like abit too far from namba station lol

It's too early now to book for October...most hotels won't have a rate or are not open for reservation

yes, not the closest to namba. To umeda is close enough and very convenient for kyoto. It has 2 stations within 1min walking stations.

I asked the same question last month.. A senior replied saying that some hotels in Japan only open booking 6 months or less from your date of stay. Maybe you should wait when you are 6 months away from your travel date to check the rate.

Closest to Namba.. Frasers Residence and Swissotel Nankai (sitting on top of Namba)

Thanks bro. I will take note of that. Anyone stay in those airbnb apartments? Any comments? Some prices are nearly on par with hotels.

I think Sheraton Miyako Osaka is affordable (if you can get the right price) and right above a subway station.

Which area is good in Osaka for hotel wise? Namba?

What about Kyoto?

First timer to Kansai area so do not know which area is a good point of accomodation.

For Osaka, some ppl say Umeda better. You can read: Advise on base in Osaka - japan-guide.com forum

As for Kyoto, Kyoto Station area can be convenient. Otherwise, Shijo/Karasuma area also not bad, near subway and got activity in the area. I may try out the latter on my next trip.

I think for hotel wise, namba and nipponbashi area is good due to the fact that most of the shopping area is there in Osaka. correct me if I am wrong. Kyoto I think is sanjo area.

Umeda have better connectivity for getting around Osaka and travelling to other places such as Kyoto, Kobe and Nara. for shopping and eating, I feel both Namba and Umeda are about the same

Umeda looks a lot like taipei's 101 area. Namba more like their ximending:)

I would recommend Umeda area for convenience. There are direct trains to Kyoto, Kobe and Nara. Stayed a Osaka Dai-ichi Hotel during my last trip. Rooms are of decent size and it's only a 3mins walk from the station and connected underground.

Osaka wise i prefer Imamiya area *If you know what i mean *

Just kidding, cause the cost is cheapest; 2k yen per night for hotel
