Hi , would like to ask , is SIT degree recognised in sg , and how about the school life? cuz i heard that some graduates cannot find a job and the school life is not good, the admission is very easy for some courses... Is it true? I hope some graduates or some current students can help to clarify this, thx.

Sit degrees are recognized. Even more recognized if you get the oversea degree kind and choose to work at their country. But for the work reputation, sit is still relatively new. The 90 plus % of the newest batch of graduates in 2015 got a job averaging 3-3.4k per month depending on what sector they go to. And sit has the most hired graduates among the other uni. It's at least 200 to 300 lesser of the big 3 uni graduate pay but due to the earlier graduation and intern, by the time the big 3 graduate work, the sit students might earn as much as them in the span of 1 to 2 years if not more.

SIT degree is recognised in sg. A lot of graduates found their job before graduating. Now with the work study program, students can work at some of the companies during the break. And if you performed well, you may get recruited into the company. The school life is quite stressful depends on what course you applied. Usually will have a lot of assignments and projects need to finish. SIT trained you not just on theories but also practical. It makes you prepare for work industry.

If you ask me about BEng(EEE), I will it is not recognized by PEB Sg because it is a distance learning degree.

My brother's friend have SIT BEng(EEE) have been working part time jobs for about a year since graduated while searching for a full time Engineer job. Reason was because hard to find a job & even when employer offer him an Engineer job, the salary is about $2000 which he rejected it.

I would say depends on the type of job. My friend from triple E ntu also getting jobs offering 2.5k max at St engineering. Even with peb, the pay is not that good for triple e. If you specialize more to mechanical or mechatronics, the pay is higher. Peb is more for employment rather than pay wise like what you said is true, finding job is hard but paywise don't defer that much. At most 200 to 300 difference. I think if possible get engineering at ntu or nus is better but if your GPA not enough then sit is also a good choice. Most of my teachers from Np are from nus and ntu and they say sit engineering from overseas uni are actually as good as ntu or nus because they are also teaching the students in the sit campuses. So in terms of ranking for engineering I would say nus, ntu, sit then sutd. Reason why I think sutd is not as good as many people think is because the school is relatively new and the intake is try hard to be like Smu but not at the level yet. And the pay from the survey sounds ******** coming new uni already earning 3.8k while ntu nus only max fresh grad is 3.5k.so sutd is below

Actually ST salary is on lower compare to other private sector because they have a salary range for each position.

BCA requirement if you want to work in projects, must have BEng recognized by PEB Sg which is the reason why employers start to employed only NTU/NUS graduates & foreigners.

No matter how one sell SIT, it is too far off compare to NUS/NTU in Singapore.

You really believe in that type of survey? That survey consider fresh or experience graduate? How many graduates are working in Government/Public sector, MNCs, SMEs & unemployed doing the survey?

For those who are in the public sector hard for them to disclose their pay etc. Most of them who do the survey are either working from previous jobs or recommendations from past internships. I can assure you that. My friend from sit naval architecture earning 3.1k at sembcorp. So the pay is at least 300 to 500 difference. But what you said is true, only peb certified are able to work in project base cause he can't joint the same project as his colleagues for ship design that is to sent to oversea. I feel like Sg really shortchanged the sit students by telling them to join the engineering program which they could easily get a better engineering program with peb from ntu or nus. But my same friend who got his degree from sit joint degree Newcastle got job offers to work in the Uk as an understudy for 3.7k per month but he also dw cause he wants to settle in Sg instead. I think singapore wise sit is okay choice if you cannot make it for ntu or nus but won't go far. Maybe with experience can but still not close to fresh graduates from ntu or nus. But if they go overseas, their certs are more recognized over there. Hence why I believe Sg a bit more meticulous about the engineers in Singapore cause must be a bit elite.

The thing is only Sg have this problem for PE. All DL BEng from SIT or other PEI like PSB, MDIS & etc are recognize to become a PE in almost all countries. Your friend can try to get CEng(PE in UK) from UK & can be recognized to work in overseas. Problem will be does his Management willing to deploy him in overseas projects even if he is a CEng?

Like I said maybe with experience. Although that being said, sit students still can apply for masters at ntu or nus after they completed their degree. So if they plan to continue, its still okay. If not, a bit not leveled
