Been searching threads and still wondering which degree provider is the best for future development. Currently study at Kaplan, Diploma in IT (Part Time), dare to plan for 2015's degree, aiming this Sep intake.

Dear Dai-gor, Dai-lou, Da-jie, Da-ka-jie,

Xiao di Ngai has no idea which degree provider is the best of the best, and I am a Malaysian, full time program is impossible even though I love this program so much: (My first choice)

Singapore Institute of Technology
Bachelor of Science With Honours in Computing Science
University of Glasgow
S$17,150 (each semester) X 4
2 years (4 semesters)
Full Time, over over over Expensive fees for foreigner, 2 years course....( keep dreaming it is part time course)

My second Choice is based on threads sources from here:

Ngee Ann Adelaide Education Centre

The University of Adelaide
Bachelor of Computer Science
Total tuition fee (10 courses) S$18,200
total tuition fee (11 courses) S$19,750
with direct entry into the 3rd year of the Bachelor of Computer Science

They said burn your 3 days of weekend for hardcore study, I don't think it is bad...

My Third choice is so near to me and reasonable to be shortlisted:

Degree in Singapore | Part Time Degree at Kaplan Singapore

Murdoch University
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
SGD 17,911.80 (9 units)
a minimum of 16 months by enrolling in 2-3 units per trimester over at least 4 academic trimesters. )

still questioning its core subjects, predicted it won't be helpful in the far far future....

My Fourth Choice is never thought of but an option to choose for:

Singapore BS Computer Science and Information Systems at Informatics

Singapore BS Computer Science and Software Engineering at Informatics

Informatics academy
Duration Part-time 12 months / Full-time 12 months

Oxford Brookes University

Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computer Science & Software Engineering (TOP UP) or
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computer Science and Information Systems (TOP UP)

fee: 17,800 roughly

Can help me to list out which else I did not include and you guys find it pretty studyable for future development. My fate is on your typewritten posts, thanks.

Since your diploma is awarded by Kaplan, you will not be able to apply for Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).
SIT only accept relevant polytechnic diploma. Eligibility requirements here,
SIT-UOG Bachelor of Science with Honours in Computing Science
SUTD/Yale-NUS/SIT/UniSIM 2015-16 Intake

I am not sure if Ngee Ann Adelaide Education Centre (NAA) will accept your Kaplan Diploma. You may wish to contact them to ask.
NAA Contact Us
But as stated on their website,
NAA Bachelor of Computer Science
Quote Admission Criteria, "The Bachelor of Computer Science caters for Diploma holders in Information Technology or Engineering, with direct entry into the 3rd year of the Bachelor of Computer Science, depending on the prior diploma."

If not, you may be asked to take their Preparatory Course before the degree.
NAA Preparatory Course into Bachelor of Computer Science

Else, you will have to consider Kaplan or other private institutions.

There's a bump to be knowing that, even though SIT only caters full timer. Sometimes Wonder The road is getting too easier to get, but at the end it means something else.

NAA is ultimately my last bargain place, just wanted to make sure the journey won't be too task-ful , difficulties are fine, only time matters.

Drop SIT, it is not feasible.

Ngee Ann Adelaide's course is very strong and high quality, but it is also very tough - take a look at their modules to see if you can cope first - it is also part-time and you must be able to balance work and study.

You can consider kaplan, it would be a smooth through-train process.

Currently a student at Ngee Ann Adelaide (BCS program)

Totally agree with you, the assignment and exam is very tough. some module like CNA/ CA and etc the exam failure rate is quite high (about half the class can fail).

I'm quite curious, failure rate is high has it got to do with time not enough on lecturing since its only 24hrs contact time and its like a rush thru 3 weeks... where kaplan have 36hrs of contact time and its not 3 weeks running 24hrs...
also is the lecturer is good ?

psb provides: Bachelor of Science with Honours in Computer Science

Degree Modules
Academic Writing 3
Rapid Application Development
Data and Information Retrieval
Real World Project
Effective Communication Skills 2
Software Engineering
Individual Project
Software Quality and Process Management
Open Source Development
Technology and its Social, Legal and Ethical Context
Operating Systems, Security and Networks
Theoretical Aspects of Computer Science
Programming, Algorithms and Data Structures

Mmmmm, based on these subjects, get me to Honours?
I am not familiar with this, is there any different between:

Bachelor of science in computer science, and
Bachelor of Science with Honours in Computer Science

about that, do you think double major in degree is considered good ?
especially computer science and management or computer science with cyber forensic blah blah blah.....
or should I just focus on one major?
thanks.

Australian universities like Murdoch do not offer honours year outside Australia. You will need to travel to Australia to complete your honours year, if honours classification is important to you. Else you will just graduate with a basic degree in Singapore.

One major or two major, it all depends on how much money you want to spend and whether they will accept you for double major course.

Your options would have been better if you had considered at least a part-time polytechnic diploma.

I'm not too sure on this but most of my classmate are from local poly and most of them get credit or pass for most of the module.

IMO honours is just for show but if you can get first class honours (scored 70% and above for all modules) or second upper (65% above), most likely it'll increase your chance of getting called for interview especially if you're fresh graduate with zero experience.

IMO the double major offered by kaplan not really worth it.

If you're currently working in private sector, I believe degree cert is just to open the door for promotion and higher salary.

So might as well choose the cheapest one yet can learn something new and useful...

Dear mister, you are right!
I have thought that before went to private.
I might say that timing is everything, when i wanted to study, the enrollment has stopped me or the requirement is quite fancy to get, no choice.... And i don't think poly is easy to enter especially for me as a foreigner who works here with only so called spm level....You know... Educational cert is my leverage but do you think they want it?

I know how I am, people know too, so they create another education centre to compensate our feeling, go private!

Not difficult to get a poly, it is truth.

What's so difficult in getting a local poly diploma. Stop taking shortcuts in life lahs
