I heard that companies can get all your medical records, i.e. reporting sick, status slips etc, from the army. Is that true?

Yes, it needs $. You can also buy your own officially format for details record that is certify by SAF.

However when you report sick to see MO, you can request them to print 1 copy of record FOC (without certify by SAF) to you but subjected they give you what kind of information & how detail it is.

buy??????????????

Hmm, I don't think private organisation can retrieve any medical-in-confidence records. Though the docket is shared in all govt organisation, nothing will be revealed without your permission. However if there's a court order, whether you agree to reveal or not is totally ignored, regardless of which party is trying to retrieve it, public or govt organisation.

There must be a formal black and white stating why the company needs that medical report. Usually this cannot be handled at cpt(dr) level. it is usually maj(dr) or ltc(dr) level already.

So in other words, if the company really wants access to your medical records, there is nothing much you can do but give them permission. Right?

How common is this practice of obtaining records from SAF by companies? Do most companies do this?

Mostly no company will want to check your SAF record cause they already have the report when sent you for employment checkup.

However if they feel that you are cheating them such as Pes & etc, they can request your SAF record.

So if you want the job, you have to give company permission or else they will feels fishy.

ASA and medical personnel can see 'em.

Thats not entirely true. The information they retrieve might not be the fully detailed ones, due to the restriction of their ISAC account.

Some account holders are able to see the superficial information which are unrestricted. The medical history, medical records and evidence are only accessible if their ISAC account has permission to access.

Most of the time, the medical information accessible to most ASA and ISAC holders are your PES, vaccination reports, blood group, allergies and your pre-enlistment investigations report, provided they have your NRIC number and DOB.

Some accesses require a generic password, and its easily obtainable if they can get hold of your DOB.

Other than these instances, no way your private employers can know the information locked to your docket.

most medical personnel with isac card will be given special rights to access the medical records system.

ASA and most of the other isac card holders wont have these rights
