How do you Clean Your Dusty Fans??

This is specially for ra[g]e bro lol, the demo below was done cos of a recent topic I have created " Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP 15 VS Gelid Wing12 PL "

Cleaning of Fan
there are lots of ways people clean their case fans, hsf fans, gfx fans, yada yada yada. as for me, normally I remove the blades off the frame. be it HSF, case fan, GFX and etc. This is what you need

Equipment :
- 1 x angle pincer (Dental pincer best)
- 1 x small flat head screwdriver
- 1 x wet cloth and 1 x paper tower
- 1 small bottle of machine oil (those use for oiling hing also can)

as why Dental Pincer cos they have teeth grip at the end of the tip

now not all fans can apply to the method below.. you just need to see properly. Majority of fans comes with a C-Clip (either metal or plastic) to hold the blade on the fan frame.

in this demo I will use the Zalman F1 fan, 80mm I think or was it F3? oh well anyway here goes...

Super dusty I know lol

Use a flat head screw driver to pry open the rubber cap from the fan frame (take note, some fans are plastic and some does not come with it)

Now inside it there is a C-Clip, please do not just pry it openly as this clip will fly off easily and you might lose it. please see video for demonstration below.

Best way to do is to use an angle pincer to do the job. Best to use Dental angle pincer

just a caption.. this is how the C-Clip holds the blade onto the fan frame.

ya majority of the goers does that. but partially clean then sometimes dirt stuck will cause whinning and other noise lol.. but some even better.. throw away and buy new ones.. I won't say is wrong but kind of waste money

Actually have tried a few times on those nameless stock fans but always break the plastic ring tha locks the spindle. very risky if you're doing it on a xpensive fan

I take a cloth and zippo lighter fluid and wipe the whole fan.

i wipe blade only, cause most of the dust are concentrated there.

same same..i use babywipes keep wiping everi 2 weeks. its an obsession

I use wet cotton sticks to clean the fan blades once every 6 months.

Only intake fan has filter, rear fan totally no blocking at all. So only fine dust stick to the fan blades and can easily cleaned off using wet cotton stick.

i think i only clean mine when i open it up to add new stuff into my rig den i will just wipe them with alcohol wipes

Lunzi, that's the same thing i do too, otherwise don't really clean them.

Well perhaps if there is the "mood" prior to CNY, may consider some operation cleaning.
