do u know there are sellers on amazon that achieved 70 million dollars in sales and revenues?u think they do that selling their grandfather's sofa and their uncle's play boy magazines?

who the **** cares about the 2nd hand market,let the ah peks and uncles of the black theives market and karang guni take care of that.99 percent of the stuff i sell is shipped from china....the money is in China.

they are not competing with ebay or amazon either, the discussion here is about carousell, not about some fantasies that you are trying to preach

thats why i love amazon,jeff bezos is a visionary and a genius.what hes accomplished is truly phenomenal.Jack ma is just a quack.Amazon had to fight and struggle for 20 years....alibaba was successful from day one with the power of the chinese market.it was a matter of who came first.Jack ma was first and the rest is history.

but still i understand the frustrations of businesses and entreprenuers and the government in Singapore.the market size in SG is simply too small to give a hoot about,thats why theres almost no billion dollar home grown SG company,besides the real estate companies and a handful of state run enterprises like singtel or SMRT or Keppel or NoL which went bust.And creative which also went bust,and creative was probably the only true international SG company.all we got is crummy fnb companies like Breadtalk,toastbox and suckit sushi.

like the semi billionaire founder of Razor SG gaming company said,why R&D and product development and innovation in Singapore simply will not work because the market in Singapore is simply too small to sustain and absorb the cost of R&D development and make the investments worthwhile,companies have to look overseas if they want to.....SG government is barking up the wrong tree pumping so much money into

Still i hope i can grow this online ecommerce business on carousell into a $30,000 a year business despite all the shortcomings and constraints of carousell and the environment....before i give up and migrate to America and start a business on Amazon.

I don't understand since there is platform like Lazada and Qoo10 that are more similar to Amazon, even Amazon is coming. Are you trying to get on a platform that have zero cost yet hope that it will perform like other platforms that require some kind of profit sharing ?

not sure what ur talking about,when did i mention being a mass seller and paying $0 fees.

carousell is going to fail because they dunno what are the essential foundations of a online ecommerce business,one is standardizing the payment method so all payments can be processed thru one or a few methods,and the payment method must be widely available and adopted by as many as possible,like nets or credit card or paypal or apple pay or visa pay etc etc....so customers will find it easy to shop and make payment......carousell has no mention of that at all or even what types of payment methods they support officially.

secondly is logistics,items and packages must be transported as quickly and efficiently between seller and buyer and must be able to handle any capacity or amount of traffic/mail.....how the **** can the owner waste time hand delivering a package one by one?do sinkies comprehend what is online shopping?imagine this is america,someone in wyoming orders an item from ur online amazon/ebay store,are u going to hop in ur car and drive 3000 miles from massachusetts just to deliver that package?there are sellers on amazon that do anywhere from $7 million dollars in sales to $70 million dollars.....i only do $300 sales a month,can u imagine if i do $30,000 sales and i have to hand deliver every ******* item?

Lazada is a direct to consumer platform I think, Alibaba is a business to business platform,while amazon is more of a peer to peer although amazon does sell some of their own stuff but most of it's income comes from third party sellers,what amazon does is provide the platform, infrastructure,the logistics, fulfillment centers and customer support.all u have to do is send ur stock to Amazon warehouse,Everytime a customer places a order, amazon will handle the payment,pack the goods,label and ship it,and take a small processing fee.
