1) Other people's ONR will not work for Singtel TV Box. For all local ISPs, the ONT/ONR are tagged to specific subscriber (activated by the backend) and not interchangeable.

2) I believe Starhub does not provide such service as laying Ethernet cable now. In fact, I believe none of the ISPs provide such service now. Last time some ISPs do that but not now.

3) This is one potential issue of using Starhub as ISP while keeping Singtel TV, when you only have single LAN port (single Ethernet cable connection) from the DB box to the living room TV console area. You will need two Ethernet cables if you need to use Singel TV box (old Singtel Set-top box) and the new Singtel Android TV box) to access Singtel TV packs.

FTP 1 --> Singtel ONR in DB Box -- Ethernet Cable 1 --> Singtel TV Box in living room console area

FTP 2 --> Starhub ONT and main wireless router in DB Box --> Ethernet Cable 2 --> mesh node in living room console area (if you need other room LAN ports to be functional)
Or
FTP 2 --> Starhub ONT --> Ethernet Cable 2 --> main wireless router in living room console area (if you do not need other room LAN ports to be functional)

4) Some more advanced users use VLAN capable switch to use single Ethernet Cable to combine Singtel TV with other ISP. This is a more advanced topic and you may want to search the forum for the configuration. You need to have two VLAN capable switch.

5) Yet another option is to give up on Singtel TV box (old Singtel Set-top box) and the new Singtel Android TV box), as you can use other devices with Singtel CAST app. For example, you can use official Android TV devices with Android TV 8.0 and above (eg: Sony Smart TV, cheap Mi BOx S Gen 2, etc) and Apple TV with Apple tvOS 15 and above. In this case, you do not need to lay another Ethernet cable.

6) In the future, you can also consider switching to Starhub TV together with your Starhub Fibre Internet, if the cost the contents meet your requirement.
Oh maybe i need to engage 3rd party to lay additional line then. Buying 2 VLAN switch seems to be more expensive.
Well i was thinking if any ONR can work, then no need to call Singtel and no downtime for the TV...
I cannot give up on Singtel TV box as my parents are totally not savvy on the IT side to cast it.
And giving up all together on Singtel Tv is not an option as my parents wants it.

I need 2 set of cables, Starhub ONT to living room Asus router and Singtel ONR to living room Singtel android box. Currently only have 1 set now for Singtel ONT to living room Asus router.

Think Xiaofan said it will not work on ONR bought from others so once Starhub broadband is up and running, I will call Singtel to do it.

Pretty sure neither StarHub or Singtel will do that cabling. I assume you want to hide the ONT and ONR in the riser?

But if there is some place to hide the ONT and ONR at the living room, you could always open up the trunking and run fibre cables that you can easily buy outside. Just need a place to hide everything at the living room end. I am also assuming there is trunking that exists that can be opened.

On the issue of Singtel android box, it is so easy to use that my 80 plus in laws have no issue with that. For me, it felt like I was using the old Singtel Tv box.

My in laws had problems with the StarHub android box because it kept hanging, due to the time it took for the ONT and Nokia router to boot. So when the Homehub contract ended, I switched over to a cheaper TV plan with no internet.

13 years ago when i moved in, i forgot to factor in all this in the reno. So when i applied for Broadband, i sited the FTP to be inside the house right after the main door whereby i can put the digital house phone and ONT together. I asked the Singtel technician then to help me lay a cable from FTP/ONT location to my living room console area with trunking.
So i would like to maintain the existing set up location by inserting one more cable for both to work.
No, my parents has been using the new android box in place of the old STB for 2 months and they are ok with it. They are very used to the Singtel tv remote control functions now. I meant more on if i were to ask/teach them to use singtel cast app to cast on our android tv to avoid the second cable need, i think it will be either they kill me or i commit suicide kind of situation :)

Good to hear that old folks have no issues with the new Singtel Android TV box.

On the other hand, for those who want to try, I tend to think Singtel Cast app on Android TV devices may well be okay for old folks as well. Mi Box S Gen 2 is cheap enough to buy (about S$70) to carry out the test.

Sorry to necro. So I switched from Singtel fibre to whizcomm fibre.

My parents die die want to watch singtel tv. However, they want to watch it from the master bedroom so Singtel put an ethernet cable from their room out to the nearest part of the living room which used to have the singtel router.

The singtel CSO jitao tell me to lay one ethernet line from the ONR to the STB. However, it will be a super long wire and I need to re-do all the trunking

May I know if switches work between 2 ethernet cable connected to singtel equipment??

The network contractor will have a long cable to do it.

IMHO.
If got coaxial, I think can use MOCA 2.0 or powerline to connect ONR to STB. Less messy than laying cables.

Ohhhhh....
IMHO.
When i did my cat6a, i took into consideration of my future needs.
One data point each for 1x living room, 3x bedroom.
One extra data point for one of the bedroom for a second ISP.
If i encounter the same situation as you, i can just connect the Singtel directly to the required room.

Give it a thought. Meanwhile can try Moca or powerline.
Powerline I use TP-Link AV2000 - get the one that has 3-pin plug. This is important because you can plug power extension bar to this as it reduces the noise.
