It depends whether you're willing to take the trouble and time to install GMS and the type of android apps you are using.

I suggest you to browse Huawei app gallery and take down a list of apps that are missing, as well as some of the ways to install GMS that best suited your usage to get a feel of things work.

And if you want 5G you'll have to get the latest phone with Kirin Chips. AFAIK it has not been launched globally, and I do not see it in Huawei store.

Huawei (taking P60 Pro as a guide):

• Fast charging (only with Huawei charger) under 50 mins.
• Fingerprint and facial works well
• Gestures works while gaming
• Good battery life
• Huawei app gallery, most bank apps and gov app are supported
• MicroG/ Aurora Store or gBox to use GMS.
• You'll get regular security updates
• Very good camera
• Better signal and WiFi (compared to Pixel 6 Pro)
• Microsoft SwiftKey or Celia Keyboard
• 4G
• Using stronger cracked resistant Kunlun glass

Google (taking Pixel 6 Pro as a guide)

• Takes about 1.5 hours to fully charged up using a 30W charger and up to 2 hours using a 15-20W charger
• Fingerprint wonky, no facial recognition
• Swiping both sides while gaming may led to back
• Poor battery life
• Google Play, good selection of apps
• While driving between sunlight and shadow screen will turn off when you are under the shadow
• Prompt Android OS updates
• Good camera
• Warm/ heat issues
• Weak signal and WiFi strength (compared to P60 Pro)
• Gboard
• 5G

Ive been using huawei p30 pro for the past 4 years.. Everything's working good, jus changed my screen and batt over the past few years...

This is the longest lasting phone i've ever used... Previously had Sony and LG, all had issues within 2 years....

Batt life is pretty good, phone doesnt heat up easily... Still pretty snappy after all these years of using...

Hi all, I just purchased a 2nd hand Nova 7i, wanna try to use Android phone without GMS.


I managed to install Vanced YouTube, but unable to sign in.

Noticed Huawei non-GMS phone uses much lesser memory resources, due to no GMS

I as simple user, for now I still uses microg, for my YouTube, LifeSG apps.
