I was going to buy the LG 24MP400 as a budget monitor from a Sim lim square shop but they said they will not handle any kind of returns/exchanges in cases of dead pixels, etc, and that I have to deal with LG directly.

How good is their policy for stuff like dead pixels, backlight bleeding, etc? LG customer support is closed now and I cannot call them to check. Anyone got experience with LG monitors?

I think should be the standard number of dead pixel/ bright pixel. If really scared, buy from stores like Best denki who can do 1 to 1 exchange within 7 days. on the other hand I never had any dead or bright pixel issues with desktop monitors in a long time. If anything, dust stuck under the screen is more common

They also bring up the warranty term and condition and will not don't do 1 to 1 for you.

I owned 1 LG monitor but that one no problem. I own their washing machine and the customer service is F up. Come here also don’t know how to diagnose. Then come brag about their f up experience and said they 100% chop guarantee that the machine gone case and cost arm and leg to repair. In the end, my 80+ year old engineer lao pek come and fixed the problem. 😆
I think cannot expect much one la. If we want service level like Apple, Tesla, BMW, I don’t think it will happen

All brands pretty much have the same warranty policy regarding dead pixel & panel issues. Why make your own life so difficult and run up and down for a $1xx monitor.

LG or best denki? From experience best denki is very flexible..I show them photo of one dust stuck under screen, replace immediately no question asked.

They also allow me to open the unit to check for dead pixel before paying.

I ended up buying a samsung monitor from best denki but they said that they cannot do 1:1 exchange unless i have more than 5 dead pixels in the center of the screen. Luckily, mine didnt seem to have any that i could see.

Interesting. My experience in Funan and Vivocity were different. But maybe LG is more relaxed in that aspect?

I think dead pixels are quite rare these days though

My LG washing machine comes with 3 years warranty, luckily I extend it to 5 years. It broke down on the 4th yr 10 mth, Call up LG, promptly they send one Technician down and within an hours it was fixed. Most washing machine break down not due to the drum but the pcb circuit board. And according to the the technician says is a common thing.

I ready to change to a new washing machine. But my laopeh fixed it. Actually the thing very simple one la. It is just they like to anyhow smoke customers. If you see how they diagnose. It is cmi diagnosis. Nowadays ppl use software to diagnose (like Apple, BMW) and not their ah beng diagnostic style (use eyes, ears, feel). This is not 1980s la. 😂

I bought Samsung M5 monitor last year June. The hdmi port became defective within 6 months of usage. Contacted their customer service in Dec 22 to arrange servicing. They postponed my appointment 3 times. Keeps on citing no spare parts available. They always called the very last minute telling me appointment cancelled. They challenged me to write to their CEO as they are confident that the CEO will ask them to settle my issue.
