How i almost got scammed

So guys here is my story.

Having went around sim lim to recce for a " WD My Passport Ultra 1TB "
After going at least 5 stores, i made my choice to buy from TradePac since they had the best price $88
(avg was $89)
BUT just when i was going to buy.
Mr worker whips out a WD element instead.
Me being a nice guy thinking he might out picked a wrong one, qns him.

Me: Element 88?
Worker: Yes 88.
Me: Not Ultra?
(Mr worker talks to the boss in Tamil and replies.)
Worker: Ultra 95.
(Here is when i get totally confused.)
Me: I thought Ultra 80+?
(trying to test the water to see how much he was going to sell it to me)
(he begins to whip out his phone and said)
Worker: boss let me check for you.
(now i don't know if his really checking or faking it, because no one picked up.)
(he then leaves the store for a good 5mins, coming back with what i wanted)
(so now to make sure i asked again, coz he didn't reply me the price)
Me: so how much is the ultra again?
Worker: 95
( ARE U KIDDING ME?
WAS THE HINT NOT BIG ENOUGH? WHEN I SAID
"I THOUGHT ULTRA 80+" )
Me: Got discount?
(by now this scam was up to my limit and i decided to ask 1 last time)
(After talking to his boss yet again)
Worker: 93.
Me: thanks for your time, *WALKED RIGHT OUT*

Went to PC Themes, Told them my story and bought it at $89 and had a
friendly service.

Now am not flaming TradePac or doing a advertisement for PC-Themes.

all in all, i just want to remind people to please check around the stores in sim lim to know whats the price range before u make any payment.
and check if the item is right.

Nothing new in SLS lah. That's what I usually prefer to go to Fuwell or Cybermind. Price may not be cheapest but at least no bull sh*t from them.
