How long does your PC components last?

So far only one gpu failed on me, it was 3 years. Probably partly my fault didnt clean the dust at all.

my 2nd gaming rig was built around end 2011, beginning 2012. Original parts:
i7 3960X
Asus Rampage IV Extreme (first board had some issues after a few months, this was a replacement board)
4x 4GB Corsair Dominator DDR3 2133Mhz (I believe I started out with this set of RAM, don't recall changing them)
Corsair HX1050 PSU (changed to Seasonic X-1250 a year or two after building system, HX1050 is in one of my other rigs)
2x/3x WD Black (no issue), 120GB Corsair Force GT (swapped to Samsung 250GB SSD a couple years back)
2x PowerColor R9 290X (replaced by 2x GB VEGA64 Gaming OC) the 290X are still working I believe (in storeroom)

I recall having one 1TB WD Blue fail on me, clicking noise followed by HDD not detected in Windows.

Guys recently my toshiba 3TB HDD is making some strange clicking noises and I could not read or write data to it.

I tried to shut down, remove and reinsert the power and sata cable. Miraculously it worked again.

Is my HDD really failing or is it due to a faulty cable? Can faulty or loose cables cause clicking sounds in HDD?

The internal mechanism is failing due to wear and tear. Best to backup all data to an external hdd or get a new hdd. Cables shld not be affecting it except for transfer speeds. You can also check its health status with CrystalDiskInfo

Wah you write on the SSD very often is it?

I thought SSD very hard to fail one.

As the capacity is so small, chances of writing on the same spot might be higher... Can't afford the 240Gb ssd at that time, it's like > $12xx
