to be honest, I am really not sure.

Recently I just made some interconnects. I remember posting them on the DIY thread.

I showed them to some people and one of them immediately replied: wow cool, how does it sound??

LOL then I asked: wow so satki meh can hear how interconnects sound?? Can the reply was, yeah sansa clip, max full volume it's kinda like a line out (Cause I was using sansa clip+ btw) and then connect to amp then can hear le hahaha

I can hear a diff well enough.
That's y I have a pure silver & a separate pure copper one.

The cable used may b a short length, but enough to alter the sound for it to be audible.

For me lah.
Others I dunno.

for me its more of a placebo effect, yes there will be a difference, a mental difference, but once u shut ur eyes and get somebody to swap the ICs, there wont be a diff, this is my opinion......:s13::s13:

Power cable makes significant improvements to the cleanliness of the power to the amp or DAC (Thou I feel an Amp makes more improvement)

Think abt it this way

A bigger hose (Thicker cable) can allow more water (Power) to be sprayed (Output to amp).

For Hifi, interconnect and power cable definitely make some difference.

For personal DAP, power cable should be a non issue right ? Since the gears are running on batteries...

If its a line out interconnect should have some difference but not sure if thru 3.5mm socket.

Previously I asked around whether there is any difference on the cable of a headphone and the replies I got were split, some say yes but some say no.

Can read up on power cables here =) pretty long but good read
Why Power Cords Make a Difference

That is by a power cord maker, so....

Anyway, there are always theories but who really knows who is correct?

Some other reads which is damn long too :D

My thoughts as well. The premium you pay that it as you are buying good quality workmanship on your cables with superior built and lasting quality. The perceived differences may be too little due to diminishing returns, the price you pay for that little improvement which your mind tells you to hear because of the money spent.

Qn: have u heard a 3rd party cable before, be it an iem/ headphone or interconnect cable?

If u have and stand by ur answer, then I applaud u.
Coz u can save hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

Its true but I do agree to certain extent on what is said, but I'm not that much of a perfectionist.

Well, not yet... home audio is really painful to the wallet. :s13:

Decent properties is definitely required for optimum signal flow but that shouldn't take too much. My take is there is a threshold such that beyond that it's pretty insignificant, and this threshold isn't very high. Sometimes it's not that the particular cable you changed to is really better for what it's marketed for. It could be just that the previous cable is shiit. :D
