Think if don't mind it doesn't matter. Why care what others think. But if really mind, why bother what strangers think. As for closed ones, think key is in finding those who can appreciate what one earn for what it is. There is no absolute number. And stay away from those who like to jjww and hiam. :s22:

My wife has some decently successful older cousins & uncles/aunts. Working in Finance, Mid-office kind or IT Director MNC type. A few years to 15+ years older than me. Compare to them, my basic compensation is not impressive bah.

I remember got one 10+ year older aunt working in LLC Finance Dept still "tut tut" at me and tell me to work harder cos her husband earn more than me lolz. At the time my income similar to the aunt already...

S$1XX,XXX/ year for myself vs. S$300,000+/ year for relatives.
$300,000 a year is average in Singapore from what my peers tell me.

More respectable is $500,000-$600,000.

To be good is above $1m a year.

Nah, heard that 'average' cannot be defined by income alone...

Need to own at least several Sg GCBs and similar properties in all major global cities, a fleet of private jets, submarines and cruise ships for personal use, supercomputer, rocket company with capability of travelling to Mars, and perhaps a small country or two with ICBMs. And don't forget the moon and asteroid bases and that bunch of mining satellites around the solar system. If not, cannot consider average...

To be good you must be part of Breakthrough Starshot to scout the galaxy and have a manned spacecraft with at least 50,000 colonists on the way to colonize Alpha Centauri... :ROFLMAO:

IYKYK.

Correct have to look at both.

Also consider debt levels.

Also passive income levels.

As well track spending.

Those who are financially savvy will look at the whole picture.

And monitor and track regularly to see if things are moving in the right direction.

Oh I thought you were just talking about income.

Gosh you mean your colleagues got such high net worth? You are referring to billionaires.

Did you say you work in civil service? I find it hard to believe that your colleagues are billionaires.

Don't troll lah

Quite normal to own these things if you are dept director of the civil service in an multi-galactic empire. Here we talk about owning planets, star systems and which galaxy to vacation in... my boss even owns several dyson spheres... serious... :ROFLMAO:

Pass or no pass depends on your expenses, and your spouse.

As long as you don't beg, steal or borrow, you can be proud of whatever amount you earn.

I heard from my friend that her son who recently graduated from NTU electrical engineering got a $5K job from ST Engineering after sitting at home for several months.

Was shocked to hear that ST actually hire a fresh grad at a $5K pay scale.
