Apple products do not, and probably will not "drop price". Once the 2018 iPhones arrive, the 2017 models most probably will take 2016 models' prices and so on.

iphone 6s got big drop in price previously. Hopefully they drop the iphone 7 prices a lot too.

Already start dropping. Mobile phone shops already selling ip8 and even X at below Apple prices for a while now. It will be even more pronounced given $200-300 off phone price National day promos at telcos. E.g.Ip8 on mid plan at just $228.

Ive also been doing that for over 20 years and never had an issue. There are sealed non-activated sets. Anyway, you can register online warranty directly with apple for all sets.
