Kyoto/Osaka Trip 14 days. For Osaka, many eateries only accept cash thus we changed around 2K SGD of Yen. Spent roughly another 3-4K SGD on stuff like shopping, Transport & Misc.

From my observation, the F&B in Kyoto is more expensive as compared to Osaka, some by as much as 40% for similar quality food. We didn't buy anything at Nishiki & Kuromon market since the prices are exorbitant. Those wanna feast can consider splurging in Osaka instead.

Nice!

I am thinking of loading my youtrip card with around S$1K and then bring maybe S$2K in cash for my 8-day trip. I hope it will be enough......
No need to bring too much cash unless the exchange rates is good. Can always use Trust card to draw money from 7-11 atms as and when necessary. No fees.

Just back from JP.
Almost all places accept "kado", even certain attraction or park fees. Only the smallest eateries are the exception.

Youtrip can withdraw from 7-bank atms with no fee. Wise card has 220 JPY fees it seems (I didn't withdraw).
Accommodation/transport pass/teamlab all booked online pre-departure or mid-trip using youtrip, deducted in JPY!

I spent not more than 30k JPY in cash for a 13-day trip.

Youtrip has monthly withdrawal limit of s$400. 2% is charged above the limit.

Note ATM operators may charge ATM withdrawal fee.

Your information is incorrect. There is transaction fee for cash withdrawal.

i did use youtrip for w/d from seven atm, no bank transaction fee. i think there was ¥10,000 w/d limit per transaction or daily (can't remember)

for trust there was bank transaction fee from seven bank.

of cuz u already knew above $400/month youtrip end will start charging w/d fee.
