If he stayed as neurosurgeon probably 10 times richer
i totally have disagreement he was a high income earner as a neurosurgeon even if he did not become minister of defence.
however earn x10 times more....well, average annual pay for an experienced neurosurgeon is $600k to $1m depending he is in public or private hospital.
and also the older neurosurgeons become the more difficult for them to practice and they relegate to admins, consultation or advisory roles.
pap gov has always market itself that all pap ministers suffered huge financial sacrifice by entering civil service. there is no doubt these are successful ppl in their fields and it is true some incur certain degree of income reduction but i doubt its very very drastic.
.... we do know some of them manage to live in bungalows that cost 20-30k monthly comfortably.
