hi,

i just being inform when i try to re contract my singtel line, that i had to pay a fee of10.70 when recontract. after some google it seem the news is of last year sept . do like to check with the expert here any way to avoid it as seriously signing a contract meaning being bond to it for 2 year yet we still need to pay admin fee for it.
although 10.7 is a small amount but it does make senses for loyal customer to pay for it so seeking advice how to avoid it

There are ways to avoid the charge:

1) Be SingTel Circle customer (Mobile + mioTV + mioVoice + SingNet Fibre Broadband).
2) Be Prestige customer (ie: be richass and let SingTel milk you.)
3) Be SingTel - UOB credit card holder
4) Upgrade your combo plan
5) Recontract online (via singtelshop.com). Iirc, delivery is more expensive than pay the $10.70 anyway, so it's your choice.
6) Leave SingTel Mobile and you won't be charged for recontracting anytime soon from any other operator.

It's something that started last September, and will be charged to your bill.

Self collection at store/popstation is free, which i experienced twice already. Once is delivery to house with promotion, foc. Another time is collection at singtel retail shop with an appointment. Collection with appointment is kinda easy and fast, allows you to check on the spot also. Collection at pop station will take a few days and need to meddle with the machine before you can retrieve the parcel.

So if you can recontract online, why not?

Exactly. This is the reason I will be porting to M1 once my current contract is up. The idea of us paying a "penalty" to be their customer does not make any sense.

Unless you are have multi line discount from their fibre entertainment bundle key line, or upgrade higher plan. Don't need to pay but if recontract same plans and downgrade plan some more confirm charge admin fees

I usually let the shop charge admin or registration fees they want cause no point argue or quarrel with them to waive.. then when bill come just call 1688 to waive.. from what I know the cso have an empowerment of $100 to waive any admin charges so just ask nicely usually they will waive.

but then again in under CIS plan so most of these charges are waived by default
