Hi Experts,

I was using my desktop and suddenly the screen went black, no sounds or BSOD before that. When I cold boot it again, I see the power lights come on but no longer hear the POST beep sounds I usually hear. Does this mean that my mobo died? Thanks for any advice.

Try the marketplace. Any p55 board would be a suitable replacement

Thanks for the reply, can't find any in market place. Can I just change the mobo and cpu combo while retaining the rest of the hardware? i.e. RAM, GPU, casing And if so what would be a bang for buck upgrade? I am looking at max $300.

Take out your rams and clean the gold contacts with a soft eraser and re-sit the rams again. Try different slot also.

my 5 yrs old motherboard spoilt, power light on but cannot go into BIOS, suspect motherboard is faulty, check the board and saw some bloated capacitors at io panel.
