Is it advisable to put 40% FD and 30% stocks?

Want safe, then put in FD and SSB. Don't want too safe then put in shares, bonds. Want more risk then put in Bitcoins or do lending to business startup.

What's your time horizon? We now understand you have a low risk tolerance, OK.

Tikam the right stocks. :o
2017 & hopefully early 2018 are still the year of capital gain for stocks.
20-300% gain is the norm even in SGX .
You may be too late in the game now.

I'll try again: when do you expect you will need this money -- how long from now? For example, if you're saving for retirement, how many years from now will that likely be?

That's what I mean by "What's your time horizon?" It is an essential, threshold question, and it's impossible to offer any prudent advice without the answer to that question -- and you can probably tell from the other replies so far that have nothing to do with your question.

Yes, OK, we understand you have a low risk tolerance. But what's the "life calendar" for this money?
