How to Jump to Specific Post?

Hi everybody

If I'm going through a thread that's many pages long, how do I come back to it another day and jump straight to the last post number where I left off? I've tried searching but can't find any way of doing this.

I've also tried just saving the page number of the thread, but there seem to be two problems with this:
1. As more posts get added, the page number will change.
2. If I'm doing some reading on a desktop browser and some on a mobile, I see that they both search in opposite directions - ie for my desktop, page 1 of a thread if the very last page. While on my mobile, page 1 is the very first page. So the page number cannot be used to continue reading from one day to the next, especially if I'm using multiple (desktop/mobile) devices.

For desktop browser to show page 1 for newest or oldest post, you need to change the settings in the Options.

At browser click on the "CP User" and select "Forum Options".
Thread Display Options » Thread Display Mode: Linear - Oldest First

Other settings you may 'trial & error' and test to see which suit you best.

Thanks, that does help a lot! But is there any way to go right to a specific post number in a thread?

For desktop do use the browser's bookmark to save on the last post/thread.
To save the last post you can click on the post #number and then thread topic which will open to that particular post #number.

For mobile Apps, example GAGT App, it will remember where you last read post once you exit and return to the same thread.

If you set to 50 posts per page, then er...

Say you want to jump to post #1163, divide 1163 with 50 in your head...

20 * 50 = 1000
3 * 50 = 150
So 23 * 50 = 1150 and 24 * 50 = 1200

It will be on page 24 if you set your settings to display 50 posts per page
