How to setup external drive to iPhoto?

hello

this may have query before. if so, please help to tag the link.

i do not want to sacarifice my macbook pro HDD space so was wondering how i can setup to have my iPhotos to save all the photos into external drive instead of internal HDD?

While pressing the Alt key, select/launch iPhoto. You will be prompted of the list of iPhoto libraries/location. Choose the external drive to create one.

you can copy your iPhoto library to ext HDD, then when launching iPhoto hold down Option on the keyboard and select the library on the ext HDD to use.
