thinking of getting a new hyundai tucson - but the authorised dealer confirmed that the singapore version does not support apple carplay...even though it is supported in US and other countries

my questions to current carplay users are: how useful / practical is the carplay? what are the best features/benefits of having carplay, as compared with the in-car entertainment set that comes with the car?

TIA

My wife's Kia has CarPlay. She used it all the time for GPS by talking to Siri. I don't know how she can stand it that she sometimes has to repeat a few times to get it right. I am a Waze kind of guy for my own car. Ha.

Have Apple CarPlay on my vehicles and some of my personal observations:
1) A lot easier to maneuver if there is touchscreen rather than just rely on the scroll button.
2) Vehicle in-built GPS does not support RTTI; as such, I prefer to rely on Maps which shows the live traffic condition and route my route accordingly.
3) Spotify user so Apple CP is useful to me.
4) Unfortunately, not many apps yet...
