If you're thinking of checking out Courts Expo for the dv6, dont bother. Not only do they NOT have 6003 the price is 1499 with 8 gb. Nothing special.

heating isn't an issue for me at all...and that's saying something because its ultra hot in SG these days, especially my room in which I use my laptop. the fan is usually on from time to time to cool down the system but thats understandable. like if i use the laptop in my bro's room, which is relatively much cooler (his room is never facing the sun), the fan will ONLY be on when I am gaming. so yeah you can make your own conclusions from that haha

No issue with fan, heating or noise :)

Screen is looking better too... :)

alright, mine's good too.

DV6 price is pretty much controlled since PC show. Got to know someone in harvey norman and even she cannot give me good discount on it.

Btw, i changed my mind abt getting a dv6. Selling off my sealed brand new m1 dv6. 6003 model.

Cheers

check whether it is set to maximum performance for wireless adapter settings under the advance settings in power options. It could be set to maximum power saving mode instead.

I've not had this issue. I've run on batt a few times but not experienced intermittent wireless connectivity.

I assume you meant 6105TX? Anyway, when you find one, let me know. Those are hard to locate (if at all).

I've got a question on the switchable gfx card.

I've set (on CCC) to run 3DMark06 on High Performance, which I assume will trigger the 6770 when running. However, when I run 3DMark06, it indicates that the gfx card is "Mobile Intel (R) HD Graphics." How do I get this changed to the 6770? Is this something which requires the paid version of 3DMark06?

Anyone knows?

That said, my 3DMark06 scores are decent. I clocked 11895 which seems to be a score for the 6770 (rather than the HD Graphics 3000).

Hi all,

would like to ask for recommendations on where to buy this laptop model. Most places are labelling it with price $1499 with a few minor freebies. Are there any places with more negotiable prices/freebies? Enquiring about this for a friend.

Alternatively, would you guys suggest a different model or instead wait it out till the next IT show?(although its quite far-off from now), As i read from this thread that stocks for this model are running low. (or is low stock a sign of possible clearance discounts? haha)

Thanks in advance for any input!

You can try at Harvey Norman and Best Denki, they still have stock.... you can negotiate freebies and price with them....

Today's DL advertisement mentions that you can trade in your old laptop/pc for up to $500.

Oh hmm. So you believe that it is better to buy it now then wait it out till the next IT fair? (No news of any possible update to the dv6?) And is it better to purchase from HP shops direct instead of the IT chaiin retailers?

Thanks for the help!

last it show was 1370-1399 with 8gb. check the 6003tx thread. HP doesnt sell direct unless you mean order online. all the physical shops you see are resellers.
