The G105M is just a rebranded 9300M GS.

NO they upped the default clock.
Rebranded means they did nothing to it but they actually did raise the GPU Clock
It isn't just a rebranded GFX otherwise the result will be nearly identical.
I am assuming most people don't OC their mobile GPU.

hi guys, bit OT here but wondering abt the HP carepack

I bot a compaq laptop at the pc show but after i bot the laptop n queued 30mins for some rubbish freebies, the rewardsLink pple told me tat warranty just register online. i tot tat was wat i was queuing up for!

So after spending 30mins finding out today, found out tat the 2nd n 3rd yr warranty is via carepack.
I read on the PC show thread tat some pple already have the carepack number but on my RewardsLink redemption paper they write there " Carepack (notebk) 2nd + 3rd yr pick up and return service - Customer will receive via registered mail"

So my stupid question is that is this the norm?

has anyone tried to run the laptop(dv4-1413tx) on ac power without the battery put in? does it work? when i tried that, it doesnt work. after i put the battery back in, i'm unable to power my laptop at all, ie the laptop died. gonna bring back to hp tomorrow.

Yes you can always use a laptop on AC power without a battery plugged in.
