I also think is stackable which is better and fair. Its basic vanilla 2% plus if you do extra work you earn extra more.

Yes. Stackable based on EGA BI T&C FAQ as below:

A7. Can This Promotion Be Combined With Other Offers?
Unless we say otherwise, this Promotion cannot be used together with other offers, campaigns, promotions, privileges or vouchers running during the Promotional Period.
Exceptions (can be combined):
• HSBC Rewards+

Look like it, but spending $1000 on Credit Card is not easy to meet, salary credit not sure if Fast "trick" be accepted, worse is you won't know till late as HSBC pay dividends few months later.....
the 2/2.1% is paid a few months later.
But the salary bonus interest is paid the next month.

New HYSA, New game?

A word of caution for those chasing salary-credit bonuses: A tracker showing a successful credit does not mean you have qualified for the bonus interest.

Banks may still conduct subsequent checks against their T&Cs and disqualify transactions that do not meet the qualifying criteria. This has happened with OCBC 360 before.

Don't confuse tracker recognition with confirmed eligibility. Read the T&Cs carefully before trying to game the system.

A qualifying salary credit must meet the substance of the T&Cs, not merely create the appearance of compliance.

If you get away with it, congratulations — but don't assume the bank has approved it. Any bonus interest awarded may still be subject to subsequent verification and clawback.

Thanks for reminder. I wonder is it your own personal experience hence you post this about salary credit gaming?

Not based on my own personal experience.

My views are based on my reading and interpretation of the T&Cs, coupled with years of observing and following discussions and experiences shared by others on HardwareZone, and connecting the dots.

You don't need to be the person who got burnt to recognise a fire hazard.

Now, if the bank decides to verify a transaction or investigate a claim, what happens then?

The issue should not simply be whether someone is employed or self-employed. The more important question is whether the individual can produce credible documentary evidence to establish the nature and source of the credited earnings.

Anyone can claim that a transfer represents salary or employment income, but can that claim be substantiated with supporting documentation?

That said, having documentary evidence does not automatically mean the bank must accept the transaction as qualifying under its T&Cs. The bank may still assess whether the transaction meets its specific requirements and conditions. Evidence establishes credibility; it does not necessarily establish eligibility.

Ultimately, claims are easy to make; documentary evidence is what makes them credible.

How strict will HSBC be compared with OCBC and other banks? Time will tell.

But one thing is certain: your financial credibility and reputation are worth protecting.

The easiest to meet is Transactions, that's why you only get 0.25%pa extra! :ROFLMAO:

So you can easily get 2%+0.25% = 2.25%pa

If you get your employer to send Salary via Giro, you get extra 1.5%pa.

(note: many people complain their employers no longer use Giro - in another bank's forum. So it depends on HSBC liao, which customer segment they want to capture. I think they want wealth customers based on the rest of the reward categories. )
