Hi just asking, will the early bird discount price change or is it fixed for the percentage? I am going to kaoshiung on 9 Oct. Landing around 6am in Taipei. Roughly what should be the timing that I should book to avoid missing the train?

Jetstar?
If you feel safer, book a later timing due to luggage collection etc.

It took my family 1 hour to clear the customs and then hunt for our bags as luggage belt had stopped moving. Then another 30 minutes to Zuoying HSR station.

Nope taking scoot. Midnight flight so will arrive around 6am. Yes I was checking for the train timings. There are no discounts for trains around 830 to 930. Is this fixed or there will be discounts if I wait longer?

Do not bother to drag longer after mid night flight.
Contact me, will share how to get your tickets.

Kaohsiung, just happened in August. They did have a queue for elderly. Those carrying babies are directed to a special queue. Elderly still have to be in the main queue.

Thank you for the reminder.
I need to apply for my special re-entry.

r u referring to the hsr early bird discount? u need to login 12am to grab the discounted tickets. they sold out very fast, especially 830 to 930 as that is the peak of the peak travel period.

why not just use Klook? you can decide anytime on the day to board on the HSR.

Has anyone actually used KLOOK to get tickets (HSR and/or other travel stuff) and found it ok?
I found it on google and was quite attracted by the flexibility and discounted prices, but online reviews of it is mixed, some find it ok but also quite many had bad experiences with it.

For HSR, just book direct from the official website can already. No need to go thru KLOOK. The website is pretty easy easy to use. Just need to key your passport number and show your passport when collecting the ticket at the counter.

I share my experience with you for my HSR train ride during my trip in taiwan.
I purchased the Klook discounted tickets from their website for Taoyuan to Taichung and Taichung to Taipei. I printed the confirmation email which is better. I queued with the main crowd buying tickets. Once i reached the counter, i showed the email plus passport. You will need to select the train timing or train number you want. The difference is in the number of stops the train makes. You can select reserved or non reserved seats as your ticket is eligible for both. Reserved seats means confirmed seat number for you. After taking the ticket, you will need to go through the side gate where there is an officer who will need to stamp on your ticket and let you through. The same process when you reach your destination.

Hi guys,

I am going Taiwan on a biz trip and will be travelling from Taipei all the way south to Tainan and Kaohsiung.

My flight back to Singapore is next Saturday departing from Taipei airport at abt 7am but I will be in Tainan till abt 8pm.

Can I check if anyone knows how long is the journey from Tainan to Taipei by the High Speed Rail and their operating hours ?

Thanks in advance.
