huh doesn't that defeat the convenience of a fast fingerprint scan to unlock alamak

E8 could configure dashboard right away zz

loving 10's battery though. much better

The backup pin/pattern unlock is mandatory for all Android phones. It will come in useful when fingerprint unlock does not work, such as when you're using gloves, have wet hands, or in a winter country for 1+ week that your fingerprint changes.

You'll love the battery even more when Nougat hits! :D

Any improvements to the camera with nougat?

Has anyone sent their HTC phones for repair recently? Mine (HTC10) is back for the second time (first time was that the screen had 'blind spots' where it couldn't detect movements - couldn't drag something from the top to bottom, second time was that the front camera was blurry - "wah, so bad" was what the customer service guy said).

And the repairing is soooooo slow. They take no effort to update on the status (We need to change the screen -> update. No screen, have to bring in -> update. Screen coming in tomorrow -> update) so customers don't have any idea what is happening. The first repair took 3 weeks, and when I called in, what they said on the 5th day is the same as what they said on the 3rd week ("The status is listed as under repair. We will send you an sms when it's ready for collection")

thanks Mike.

anyway, what picture gallery u guys using? I'm trying Quickpic. seems ok packed with features. but I prefer stock like gallery though.

One good bro recommended me Pikture. Really not bad. Can move/copy into albums, across to SD card too.

U got any solutions to whatsapp media files? I tried to move files, but kept getting prompt: "not enough permission" blablabla.

Hi guys, so my contract is eligible to recontract today.. I'm thinking of getting the HTC 10. But from my previous experience in using HTC, desire 826, and one e9 plus, the battery life is very bad. Is this the same with HTC 10? I saw a low budget phone - Samsung A5 2017. And my sister has a A5 2016. The battery life very good. I normally use my phone for web browsing. Do you think I should get HTC or Samsung? P.S I'm not trying to start a war. I just want to make sure I do not waste my money on a phone that might not be to my expectations.

The battery life of the 10 is good - 3000mAh for a 5.2" screen is a good combi. The previous HTC phones had really bad battery capacity : screen size ratios.

I just got my HTC 10 today. :) anyone knows when Singapore version will get nougat update?
unclear when that will happen. Southeast Asia HTC 10 units are under HTC India, and their Facebook post in mid Jan stating that HTC 10 (together with One M9+ and One A9) will be getting nougat update has disappeared, though the tweet is still there..

I just PMed HTC Singapore on their FB asking when Singapore sets are receiving nougat. They replied that update will be pushed in Mar.

Hope they release it in early Mar, and that nougat will bring much need optimization, especially to camera and battery life.

I feel that the HTC 10 has so much more potential, esp in camera, where it has good hardware let down by poor software. Disappointed by the poor focus in low light, post-processing that is mushy and full of artifacts, and close to useless HDR.

Hope this is resolved in nougat to give my 10 a new lease of life.

yes totally agree. as for now only the audio via the 3.5mm jack impresses me, not thru the speakers though
