Its look is outdated. Without the front speakers, why does it still have so much bezel? Worst bezel besides the iphones?

Thats what I thought too.
And also.. I'm surprised nobody mentioned this. The space below and above the home button is not equal. Totally ruins the symmetry...

Oh man another review claiming HTC 10's battery life isn't good. Android Central says the battery is worse than Samsung S7 which has battery of the same size.

it has ~71.1% screen-to-body ratio, S7 is ~72.1%, G5 is ~70.1%, 6S is ~65.6% how much more you want the bezel to vanish before you will consider "normal"?

If they test with screen constantly on, AMOLED will always have better battery life than LCD. its the limitation of LCD, the backlite is always on. I personally would trade some battery life for more natural display than AMOLED.

according to cnet--which didn't like it a lot--claim to have 11hr+ of video playing, on par with nexus 6P. but with QC3.0 with 50% of charge in 30min, battery life shouldn't be a concern anymore, IMO.

Yea I'm more concerned about actual usage time than standby time. I just find it strange cause back on HTC One M8, the battery life was very very good despite the low capacity. It's either Samsung up their game by a lot or HTC's software needs some tweaking.

From Anandtech:

In WiFi, we can pretty clearly see that the HTC 10 actually has a notable lead over the Galaxy S7 with Snapdragon 820, although the difference isn’t necessarily enormous. I’m actually pretty surprised by this showing from the HTC 10 because our test is specifically designed to decrease the average APL with a few pages that have dark themes. Another factor that tilts the scales against the HTC 10 when comparing against phones like the Galaxy S7 is that the Galaxy S7 has an undefeatable power save mode which drops brightness by more than half and throttles the CPU noticeably, while the HTC 10 was run with all power save options disabled.

According to Anandtech's quick look battery test

HTC 10 battery life is quite good, more or less on par with S7 and better than M8/M9. if M8 is good enough for you, 10 would satisfy you. still, this is preliminary result, waiting for full review from reputable sites like Anandtech. Cnet is a joke, even GSMArena--Sammy biased--is way more trustworthy.

All these battery and camera news is making me more and more skeptical about this "perfect 10" phone. Hope it will not be a disappointment.

Pocketnow is pretty positive about it.

I think the s7 has generally better shots, no matter which review sites I've seen.

That being said, the camera looks fine and this will be my next phone. IN-BUILT DAC!!!

From Pocketnow:
Is the HTC 10 a perfect 10? No, just like every other smartphone isn’t a perfect 10. The Galaxy S7 edge is a great phone that’s hard to hold and operate, the LG G5 is a great phone with a need for more polish in its hardware. The HTC 10 is a great smartphone, with amazing build quality, powerful specs, and just a need for a couple of tweaks in its camera software. Again, it’s not perfect, but HTC has an advantage that competitors don’t have. Software limitations can be fixed with software updates, where the issues that competitors suffer with build quality can’t.

Here is Linky.

According to hamdir from XDA Forum, the issue is caused by Auto HDR+ is enable by default and will be fixed by FW ver 1.24.xx.

I wonder how their speakers compare with lenovo K4 note, a low end phone with what i hear are excellent speakers.

so it seems htc 10 has better quality and separation as usual, but loses on volume as usual.

HTC 10 speaker comparison vs Nexus 6P
